W-What is this supposed to be?!
One of my favorite pastimes is getting a stupid movie and sit around with some buddies and make fun of it. When I saw this I thought to myself- I marginally respect Burt Reynolds and Gary Busey. As the pedestrian story unfolded (some mishmash about the Unisols not obeying their commands and, like, shooting somebody or some other) we were so shocked that we couldn't even think of any wise cracks to scream at the TV. I mean this was bad, folks, just plain bad. Can anyone out there tell me about how this dreck came into being? Oh yeah tell me how it ends because I couldn't take it. Was there some kind of legal battle over the name or something? Clearly inferior to the same named theatrical release featuring Jean Claude. Van-Damme. Watch at own risk. I mean it.

Decent update of the man from the movie "Universal Solider"
This made for TV made movie is a decent update of the man that VanDamma played in the original. It still deals with the man Luc Devereaux has from being a former Unisol. The Unisol program is tracking the former solider.Luc also has a lady friend who works for the media helping him. The action is decent (considering it's for TV ) Also in this movie is Gary Busey playing a commander of Universal Soliders. There are couple of plot of plot twists along the way so I wont give them away! This movie has non stop action, thrills and searing special effects! Its a fun movie even if you have not seen the original movies !

Other than a few bloopers, the movie was fantastic!
Luc, Veronica, and Eric (Luc's brother) star as fugitives either framed for murder (Veronica) or thought not to exist (Luc & Eric) battle to rescue themselves from the half Goverment, half mercary program of going to "Show & Tell", a scam to rip of another goverment of a lot of diamonds. Also looking for proof to prove Veronica's interest and to help Luc recover from memory loss. Universal Soldier II "Brothers In Arms" Summory

Girl Next Door

MPAA Rating: R (Restricted)
Director: Eric Till

Predictable, Boring, and Stupid
This movie is predictable right from the start and really stupid in places. The plot is simple enough, middle aged man with pregnant wife becomes infatuated with neighbors' 18 year old daughter. The man has a very brief affair with the girl after which she turns up dead and the man is now a prime suspect. What is stupid about the whole mess is the fact that nobody seems to be suspicious of the girl's boyfriend, someone who had been stalking her before the affair, everyone is more suspicious about the girl's new mysterious lover. To make the entire mess even more unbelievable, the girl took a video of the single night of passion that she had with her neighbour and he now has to get his hands on it.

The movie is also listed as an "Erotic Thriller". Well, there is very little erotic about the movie at all, in fact there are only two semi-sexy scenes in the movie. The first features the girl taking a skinny dip in the pool and the second is the girl and man having sex for the first and only time. Both times the scene is shot in darkness and you cannot see anything worthwhile to suggest any real nudity or eroticism.

The DVD is also very bare bones. There is very little extra on it. My advice, avoid this movie at all cost and instead consider one (or all) of the Poison Ivy movies.

Modest but pleasing modern noir
Henry Czerny plays a married Doctor ,asked by his vacationing neighbours to keep an eye on their nubile teenage daughter, who is being harrassed by a fellow student unable to accept the end of their affair. An affair develops betweem them and she films him getting dressed afterr a sex session, which is somewhat unfortunate as she is shortly afterwards murdered, placing him in an invidious position as he wrestles with both conscience and adesire to protect his freedom, marriage and social standing.

The plot is well worked out although the murderer is easily spotted.Good acting and direction make for a pleasing time passer

I disagree....
I first saw this movie last fall on one of the pay movie channels and enjoyed it. While it certainly is not a work of artistic genius, it's a fun movie to watch late at night and I thought it had sufficient eroticism and suspense to keep me watching. It is the sort of movie that won't require much thinking but it fulfills its purpose of entertaining and I tend to be one that is very critical of the mindless material the movie industry now releases.

Terrible tape
This tape started during the action, not at the beginning. After that the horizontal lines throughout the picture lasted about 15 minutes. On top of that, the color was so red it couldn't even be adjusted. I tried to contact the distributor (Foss-man) and couldn't even reach them to find out how I could return it. They merely stated that they couldn't deliver the message and said "sorry". That really helped my cause. Thank you for nothing.

busey's the man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WOW!!!!!!!!!!! this movie had it all. excitement! explosions! and gary busey! it's an awesome revenge flick, probably the best one i've ever seen. no, it is the BEST!!!!!!!! if you like this stuff, and i know i do then buy this bad boy and you won't regret it! gary busey is after a motorcycle gang that kidnapped his daughter, and you know gary's going to bust them wide open, it's got some pretty bloody fight scenes, lots of guns, explosions too. i guess the only downfall is there's no nudity. if you enjoy those campy action flicks, by all means... buy this one as soon as possible!

My Third Attempt to Review this Movie
I will make this short and sweet. This movie has absolutely the worst dialogue (script) that I have heard for a long time. Nothing, but nothing, in this movie is believable. Read the reviews at the IMDb. I would give this a minus 5 Stars if I could. 8 fingers and 2 thumbs down.

A good movie
It is not a fantastic movie but as action movies goes this one is better than most. It even has some person develoment. Overall a good action movie.

Man with a Gun
Released in VHS Tape by Hallmark Home Entertainment (20 March, 2001)
MPAA Rating: R (Restricted)
Director: David Wyles
Average review score:

Man With a Gun has a few good performances.
Man With A Gun is a fairly good thriller, with Jennifer Tilly playing twins and Michael Madsen mumbling through a nothing part. Gary Busey is scary as the crime boss caught in the middle, with a couple of incomprehensible moments onscreen. The real find here is Ian Tracey as Roy, a wannabe that revels in taking charge of the goons and desperately wants a bigger piece of all the action. He is the man to watch in this.

Suspicious Minds
Released in VHS Tape by Vidmark/Trimark (20 July, 1999)
MPAA Rating: R (Restricted)
Director: Alain Zaloum

Match the Crime to the Perpetrator
A slightly different kind of predictable "B" movie (not to say that first class movies are never predictable; they are, but the writing, directing and acting overcome the predictablility so that it is a minor aspect). This is not one of those movies but can be watched for the plot twists which are sufficiently adequate to mask the real culprits until the end. A true student of plots may watch it twice to make sure he or she has got the right perpetrator matched to the right crime. The "B" quality predictability lies only in the writing/staging/ production efforts to make it a DRAMA/suspense, complete with not totally revealing sex. The efforts were fairly successful in two things -- the choice of music backdrop and the dramatization of the friendship between the cop and the private eye. Patrick Bergin's performance saves the cast from being a total "B" type one and he pits his intensity acting against all the factors which keep the film from being an "A" one. He's not quite up to his superb performance in "Sleeping With the Enemy" but he is a definite plus in this one. Too bad his partner in illicit love just doesn't come across as a femme fatale.

If I could give it Zero Stars, I would...
you know... sometimes I wonder how films like this ever get made. I mean, I just could never understand how people can waste their time and money on a movie that SUCKS as much as this one did. Ok let me be fair here and say that I'm sure there are people out there who enjoyed this movie for some reason or another and have the same sense of humor as the writers of this movie (didn't) have. This movie was just so horrible I can't emphasis it enough. Even if I HAD to write a movie based on a similar storyline... I could have done a WAY better job and made the movie MUCH more interesting than it was. And I'm no director... so you don't have to take my word for it. But if you have some warped desire to see this movie because you don't trust my review... PLEASE do. And then come back on here and rate this movie like I did and say how much you hated it so that I can say... "I told you so!!!." Hehehe. :)

I want my money and my time back!
I only watched this movie for one reason; I'd heard Tracy Scoggins was in it. Sadly, she only appears for a few seconds, in the only role that isn't detestible. The plot is simplistic to the point of non-existance. The characters are miles beyond idiotic, to the point where you suspect the scriptwriters are. There isn't enough suspense or finesse to fill a teaspoon. The only appeal Busey's character holds in his brief appearance is to those who find the extremes of gross amusing--in short, adolescent mentality that laughs at anything disgusting and cruel that Hollywood's been shovelling their way for the past few years. Makes some of the bad B-movies of the 50's look positively sophisticated and artsy. If it was meant to be a vague Blair Witch rip-off, it has more in common with the story of Hansel and Gretel (except that was scarier). I wish they allowed "zero" stars in the Amazon.com ratings...

Compared to some of the other junk I've seen lately....
This one's a tough call. Well, I've been on a post-'90s, straight-to-video horror movie kick, and, honestly, compared to some of the other junk I've sat through recently, "A Crack in the Floor" looks pretty good. Yes, its plot is threadbare and hardly original, and, sure, many of the scenes are purely time-fillers -- but, man, look at that oddball cast! Gary Busey and Rance Howard (that's Ron Howard's dad, by the way) pop up in one bizarre and twistedly funny scene that demonstrates the difference between city kids and backwoods chicken farmers (granted, the scene is a little forced and wholly unnecessary, but, darn it, for some reason it cracked me up anyway. Busey's a nut!) Tracy Scoggins, Bo Hopkins, Mario Lopez (dude--that's Slater from "Saved by the Bell"! Totally awesome, man!) and, if anyone remembers, David Naughton from "An American Werewolf in London" (although his part is so small and inconsequential that you barely notice him.) Also, the main cast of young actors actually do a passable job. A few of them were even quite good (with the exception of the pothead chick, whose dialogue consisted of little else than, "What do ya smoke? Cigarettes or weed?" --really, if people actually talked like that, oh what a dull and stupid world this would be.)
But, overall, this movie worked for me on some levels. Some of it was tedious and dumb, but there were some honest laughs, some honest shocks (like the two guys discovering the redhead in her sleeping bag with her neck twisted around) and even some unexpected twists (such as people getting knocked off early who I thought were going to be the main heroes/heroines) and a surprising downbeat ending.
No, it's not great, and it does get downright meanspirited towards the end, but, compared to a straight-to-video, killer-in-the-woods pile of junk that I watched recently called "Fear Runs Silent," this one's a masterpiece.

Two Shades of Blue
Released in VHS Tape by Sterling Home Entertainment (06 June, 2000)
MPAA Rating: R (Restricted)
Director: James D. Deck

B-rated erotic film
The only good thing about this flick is the balcony sex scene with Rachel Hunter and Eric Robets. Plus the accompanying background music is pretty cool and hypnotic. Other than that, this movie is totally blah!

do you speak english?
movie is well made, however, they left out english sub-titles. The sub-titles are in Spanish only. What a bummer!

Two Shades of Blue -- Movie Satisfactory
Framed for murder Susan Price, (Rachel Hunter) will stop at nothing to clear her name.

I can say I liked this movie despite the fact, at times the plot is strained and the movie predictable. A good portion of the movie takes place in a telephone relay center for the deaf. There are scenes in the movie that are disturbing or unsettling. To me the movie borders an R/X rating. Curtain parts of this movie (the disturbing scenes) remind me of the rating controversy over "Fatal Attraction" when it first came out with Glen Close and Michael Douglas. That said...

"Two shade of Blue" has an impressive cast which includes Eric Roberts, Rachel Hunter, Marlee Matlin, "Children of a Lesser God," and Anthony Natale, "Mr. Holland's Opus" and "His Bodyguard." Both Matlin and Natale are deaf actors.

Being a fan of both Matlin and Natale is what drew me to view this film. Also, I am myself physically challenged. It is good to see "true" disabled or physically challenged actors get lead or supporting roles in films today. Anthony Natale gives a satisfying yet justified performance as the character 'Todd". Natale works well opposite Hunter, who plays "Judy/Susan Price". A lady gone undercover to catch a killer. Given what she had to work with Marlee Matlin's performance was mediocre at best.

As this review is being written I can say, I have not seen much in the way of Eric Roberts's performances. He is however very good a being bad.

Though I think "Two Shade of Blue" is a satisfactory movie as a whole film. Might I recommend, if you are considering a purchase of this film to rent it first to save on disappointment and money spent. This suspense drama is not for everyone.

Slap Shot 2 - Breaking the Ice

MPAA Rating: R (Restricted)
Director: Steve Boyum

Absolutely terrible.
We should be able to select "No star" for the rating. Just sad, horrible attempt at a sequel. Hockey people will understand my opinion. The original was and is still the all time greatest hockey movie ever. I can't believe they even released this film.

"What a f---ing nightmare."
Rent this video, don't buy it, then fast forward to the Hanson's scenes and the final hockey game. Skip the rest unless you feel you must witness "this fiasco".

Most of this movie is just plain awful except for the scenes with the Hansons and the Chief's new goalie who has this "obsessive compulsive" thing going (like most goalies, eh). He was pretty funny.

There were way too many attempts to rehash the great gags from the original Slapshot, it actually got painful to watch. The writers should have to go sit in the penalty box for this slashing they gave us.

Excuse me while I go watch the original a few times to get this bad experience out of my head, eh.

not as bad as everyone says
ok this movie has the problem of competing with the greatest hockey movies and one of the best movies around Slapshot and no it doesn't live up to Slapshot but you get a good movie. I have seen sequals that where much worse but I have seen few sequals that are better this is an original movie and a good one and deserves the credit for being a good movie
