I've been in love with this movie ever since it released in 1997!!! The movie is about a group of kids who are called the stinkers named by their opera obsessed school principal who takes the school to the kids to the aquarium and they meet Slappy. He seamed depressed and they make up their minds to free him not knowing the adventure they're getting into. Believe it or not only 3 out of the 5 become famous the dark haired weird talking boy becomes Otto Rocket of Rocket Power, the dark skinned boy becomes a old friend of Ren on Even Stevens, and the chubby hat wearing boy appears a few times on the Amanda Show.

Very Funny!
This movie tells the story of a clumsy music teacher (B.D. Wong) and a gang of kids nicknamed "The Stinkers". The music teacher hates the pesky 7-year olds and will do anything to stop them from ruining his dream of being an opera singer. The plot takes place around the trouble the "stinkers" get into as they attempt to rescue a sea lion (named Slappy). This is a cute movie that any kid, or adult will love to laugh at. Other funny characters include the Swedish-piano-player, Harriet; and the stupid lawn-mowing-man, Roy. Buy this movie and get ready to laugh.

A Great Kid's Movie
I bought this movie for my younger sister, who is eight, and she just loves it. Even the grown-ups laugh along with this movie.

A Night at the Roxbury
Released in VHS Tape by Paramount Studio (21 May, 2002)
MPAA Rating: PG-13 (Parental Guidance Suggested)
Director: John Fortenberry
Starring: Chris Kattan and Will Ferrell
Expanding their one-joke skit from television's Saturday Night Live, Chris Kattan and Will Ferrell are Doug and Steve Butabi, the wearers of the rayon suits and Speedo trunks who bob their heads in unison to dance music while unsuccessfully preying on women in clubs. What's funny in a three-minute piece doesn't always get funnier by expansion, but Kattan and Ferrell give it a go with fellow SNL member Molly Shannon as their ambitious neighbor. By day they work in their father's fake-plant store. By night they prowl the club scene after spraying on the cologne in their gauchely decorated bedroom. A fender-bender with Richard Grieco (playing himself) gets them into the popular club the Roxbury, but it's not all good news, as the brothers soon find themselves torn apart. Doug and Steve are pathetic but lovable, mostly due to the actors' talents for self-deprecating humor. All gifted comedians, Kattan, Ferrell, and Shannon obviously feel comfortable around each other, and their love triangle (which prompts send-ups of Say Anything and Jerry Maguire) is the funniest joke in this mostly lame comedy. Too bad, because it clocks in at about 80 minutes and could have run on television as a pretty good episode of SNL, which has been known to get a bit lame itself. --Shannon Gee

Great look, sound, vibe.
This movie just plain makes you feel good. It has excellent, upbeat music, very bright colors, and good hearted, LA slick and easy characters. In short, mindless fun that looks great, moves fast, and keeps your toes tapping. Like the first Austin Powers, this movie has a lovable tone from beginning to end and works great as video and aural wallpaper. While you're choring or reading the paper, lighten up to the music and glance at the screen to get a dose of color and fun.

In my opinion, Will Ferrell is very underrated right now. He's got the super-friendly look of the guy that everybody likes but deep back he has some dark reservoir that either boils just below the surface or erupts in a burst. I think his immense likability allows him to go dark and get laughs where other actors might just seem offensive. This is mostly seen on certain SNL skits and "Dick" (where his quick "slowburn" is more classic than Ted Knight's). In Roxbury he is likeable throughout, but a slight glimmer of knowingness seems to filter through the character. He almost seems to be making fun of stupid movies by being stupid and winking at us.

Funny, sweet and with awesome dance sequences
Will Ferrell and Chris Kattan "ROX". (I know...an old joke!). Having never seen the "Roxbury Guys" sketch on SNL, I wasn't sure what to expect. I own the soundtrack and love all the music on it, but when it actually came to the movie, I was pleasantly surprised. My brother thought it was stupid but for rainy day, sit at home watching videos, leave your brain elsewhere entertainment....I highly recommend it. My favourite scenes involved Will Ferrell and Molly Shannon....but the whole movie was excellent especially the dance sequences at the club!!

Do yourself a favour....go rent it today!!

Legally Blonde
Released in VHS Tape by M G M, Inc (01 January, 2002)
MPAA Rating: PG-13 (Parental Guidance Suggested)
Director: Robert Luketic
Starring: Reese Witherspoon and Luke Wilson
If you've ever doubted how much a star can carry a movie, look no further than Legally Blonde, Robert Luketic's pop fluff about a sorority girl who becomes the reigning brain at Harvard Law School. The film tries way too hard to be pop fluff, but thankfully it also understands the comic glories of Reese Witherspoon. As Elle Woods, the supposedly dimwitted heroine, Witherspoon gives a high-wattage performance that somehow comes across as both lusciously cartoonish and warmly human. It's a radiant comic turn worthy of Marilyn Monroe, and Luketic throws the whole movie at her, even though its intentional kitsch and sledgehammer contrivances don't trust you enough to figure out on your own what might be guilty fun about it. It's a lame movie, essentially, that redeems itself by knowing just enough to keep things sunny and moving right along. The film is content to follow several steps behind the regal Witherspoon, carrying her train. You probably will be, too. --Steve Wiecking

Funny & Fresh
Reese Witherspoon is becoming quite a big contender in Hollywood today. She's appeared in several critically acclaimed films such as Cruel Intentions, Election, and Pleasantville. And with Legally Blonde, her hot streak continues.

Witherspoon plays Elle Woods, the beautiful, blonde, rich valley girl who gets dumped by her boyfriend who has made the decision to become more "serious" and study at Law School. After being rejected,, Elle decides to follow him to Law School to win him back. When she gets there, she realizes he has a new girlfriend, who is played by Selma Blair (Reese's co-star in Cruel Intentions). This sets up an amazingly fresh and bright comedy that is sure to be remembered by many people.

Elle quickly becomes a very likeable character. She stands up for what she believes in and says some of the things that we wish we could to others, but don't. She's very much of an outcast when she arrives at Harvard and despised by most, but as the movie continues, she slowly begins winning over almost every character in the movie.

Legally Blonde is a very bright and smart comedy, with a hip and talented cast. It contains great morals, a great story, and fun dialogue. And when it's over, no matter what mood you were in before, you're guaranteed to feel better about yourself afterwards. This movie is definitely worth a look.

There are many great extras contained on the DVD, such as a Hoku music video, deleted scenes, and two featurettes. The first featurette informs you of the process of finding the right 'blonde' for Reese, and the second informs you of how the movie actually was made. You can't miss this.

Witherspoon showcased as a talented lead
"Legally Blonde" is a showcase for Reese Witherspoon that continues to highlight her talents. The film draws comparisons with "Clueless" since the theme is essentially identical. Elle (Witherspoon) progresses from a culturally challenged blonde bubblehead to a high achieving Harvard law student for all the wrong reasons. All the while she has to endure mockery for her valley girl attitudes. Of course, she triumphs over east coast bigotry and over own limitations, but for all the wrong reasons.

The story is cute, but lacks the insight and nuance of "Clueless". However, Witherspoon outdoes Alicia Silverstone's performance with her sheer energy and determination. Both were excellent, but Witherspoon is the more dynamic.

The acting by the ensemble of supporting actors is very good and helps Witherspoon look that much better. The cast is rich in aspiring actors with strong talent and little name recognition. Of particular note are the performances of Selma Blair and Luke Wilson. Blair plays the uppity girlfriend of Elle's former boyfriend Warner (Matthew Davis). Blair is wonderfully condescending and catty throughout most of the film, but shows the ability to move into a softer, more likeable portrayal by the end. Wilson's soft spoken demeanor is perfect for his nurturing role in this film. His support is the catalyst that makes Elle's transition work.

Reese Witherspoon has been gradually moving to progressively larger parts for the last ten years, and at age 25 she made the leap to the lead with this film. She definitely makes the most of the opportunity. She simply dominates the entire film with a high energy performance that has as much steel as perfume. She makes Elle as lovable as she is ridiculous, while instilling her with qualities that you can't help but admire as the film progresses. If this is representative of the wattage she will bring to films, then her future is likely to be very bright.

This is not a great film, but it is very charming and watchable. I rated it a 7/10. We may look back on this film as the one that launched a prominent career.

This movie is great!
Aside from side-splitting laughter and a witty plot, Reese did an awesome job playing Elle! Elle's spunk and charm was totally captured by Reese. Plus, this movie is very well written. I think it's my 2nd fave movie ("A Walk to Remember" being my 1st!) I really don't understand how some people don't like this movie. That's just plain weird.

American Pie - Rated Edition (Special Edition)
Released in VHS Tape by Universal Studios (07 January, 2003)
MPAA Rating: Unrated
Directors: Paul Weitz and Chris Weitz
Starring: Jason Biggs, Chris Klein, and Thomas Ian Nicholas
Anyone who's watched just about any teenage film knows that the greatest evil in this world isn't chemical warfare, ethnic cleansing, or even the nuclear bomb. The worst crime known to man? Why, virginity, of course. As we've learned from countless films--from Summer of '42 to Risky Business--virginity is a criminal burden that one must shed oneself of as quickly as possible. And while many of these films have given the topic a bad name, American Pie quietly sweeps in and gives sex some of its dignity back. Dignity, you may say? How can a film that highlights intercourse with fruit pies, premature ejaculation broadcasted across the Internet, and the gratuitous "gross-out" shots restore the dignity of a genre that's been encumbered with such heavyweights as Porky's and Losin' It? The plot may be typical, with four high school friends swearing to "score" by prom, yet the film rises above the muck with its superior cast, successful and sweet humor, and some actually rather retro values about the meaning and importance of sex. Jason Biggs, Chris Klein, Thomas Ian Nicholas, and Eddie Kaye Thomas make up the odd quartet of pals determined to woo, lie, and beg their way to manhood. The young women they pursue are wary girlfriend Vicky (Tara Reid), choir girl Heather (Mena Suvari), band geek Michelle (Alyson Hannigan), and just about any other female who is willing and able. Natasha Lyonne as Jessica, playing a similar role as in Slums of Beverly Hills, is the general adviser to the crowd (when Vicky tells her "I want it to be the right time, the right place," Jessica responds, "It's not a space shuttle launch, it's sex"). The comedic timing hits the mark--especially in the deliberately awkward scenes between Jim (Biggs) and his father (Eugene Levy). And, of course, lessons are learned in this genuinely funny film, which will probably please the adult crowd even more than it will the teenage one. --Jenny Brown

This movie brainwashed high schoolers and preteens into thinking mindless sex and constant partying is just harmless and (reputation speaking) required in High school. Well, i watched my class mates follow the stupid antics that this movie depicts, and one got ran over by a car, and one got his girl friend pregnant(she was a freshman might i add)
These are the people who are going to run the country, I pray these people work in factories or go into the military, because if you let these kids go to college, $4,000 is going to go straight down the drain,
im not a hard core christian and i know its only a movie, but it did start a revolution of my generation, and it sucks

Here We Go Again.....
Yeah!!! Its ANOTHER teen movie. I was persuaded to go and see this film on the promise that it had something new and fresh to add to the genre. This was a lie. Jokes you can see coming from a mile off, Text book Farrelly brother gross-out, poor acting from the usual collection of potential teen stars, no plot, awful script and of course, sequels!!!
Why, what was the point?

Classic Comedy!
I like to review the film by itself and then the DVD...

Film - No one avoided this film like me. From what I had seen and heard about the film, it seemed that the writer and director took themselves way too seriously for a typical sex-filled teen comedy. Luckily, this film is not typical. The writing is crisp and the jokes are very funny. The characters reflect real teens (although they are all well-spoken and extremely pretty). The teen boys are neither jerks nor big softies (with the exception of Chris Klein's character). The girls are not naive, but also not entirely jaded. The acting is solid. The result is a film that is funny but that also can be taken as a look at kids today.

DVD - Awesome! Lots of special features, almost too many (soundtrack presentation?). The commentary is entertaining, and outtakes are always fun.
