It's been a long time...
I don't own this film, but came across it by accident while browsing on Amazon. I haven't seen it in over 20 years, but somehow the power of Marilyn Hassett's performance came to mind. I remember it and am looking forward to a DVD version. Anyone else agree? Since it's out of print, there are blood-suckers out there capitalizing on its unavailability. Give us a DVD and let the blood-suckers stew in their greed. I remember great photography and wonderful music, as well as Hassett, whose career didn't take off. Pity.

I BEG YOU TO RELEASE THE DVD ,PLEASE!!!
IT'S HARD TO BE MOVED OR TOUCHED BY MOVIES NOWADAYS,AND THIS ONE MADE ME CRIED LIKE A BABY.I AM BEGGING YOU TO RELEASE THE DVD VERSION OF THIS STRICKINGLY BEAUTIFUL MOVIE.

Beautiful, rich and tragic
The film was richly acted and memoriable, about the skiier whose tragic fate changed her life to that of a paraplegic. Equally tragic, was her friend who suffered from polio, but triumphantly rose out of the iron lung to battle this ugly disease which affficted some of the population. It is about Kinmont's struggle to reclaim her independence and to understand her newly aquired disability with a courageous face. A must for everyone to see.

Classic Cult TV.
This series was loosely based or, or ripped-off from Buckaroo Banzai. It was an off beat TV series about oddball superheroes, along the line of Mystery Men. Good clean fun that paved the way for Max Headroom in the US.

great show
I think this is one of the best shows that television had to offer. Being a sci-fi fan it disappointed me to see this show cancelled.

Trouble choosing a hotel?
One of the hardest things to decide when planning a trip to Mexico is "where to stay"!!
These videos from Hotel Mexico are a fantastic tool for travel agents as well as individuals who are trying to choose the perfect resort.
The videos show the hotel grounds, beaches (very important!), pools, restaurants and detailed footage of the rooms..
They even show you what your view will be like from your balcony!
I wish I had had something like this on my first trip to Cancun 17 years ago!! Of course there were only about 6 hotels then :)
Great job Bill & company!!!

Mexico Paridise
This video was very helpful and accurate. Much more informative than a travel agent brochure or catalog. Our hotel accomendations were just what we anticipated after watching the video. We had a great vacation and will not hesitate to purchase another video for our next vacation to Mexico.

Just what we were looking for
We don't take vacations like this very often, so to be able to see the hotel rooms was perfect.
For the price of a guide book, we got to look at different hotel rooms, lobbies etc., and we were able to pick the hotel that was right for us.

We had a wonderfull vacation, and to be able to see where we would be sleeping was one less worry.

Dave & Hotel Mexico Video
WOW !!! What a great product and great idea. I was able to tell from the video tape which hotel I wanted to stay at. I didn't want to stay at the huge resorts but I also didn't want to stay in a cheap dump. This was the best way to get a view of what the resort was like with out actually having to go there. Thanks for the help !!! Happy and Taned....

Hotel Mexico-Hotels of...Cancun South
Great video. This was extremely helpful to us as we planned our vacation to Mexico. We enjoyed being able to actually see the hotels we would be staying in before we booked our reservation.

Better than any travel brochure
As a travel agent, I try to visit as many hotels as I can. Of course it is impossible to visit every hotel, but with this video it's the next best thing to being there. With a brochure all you see is a picture of the property and a maybe one of the room. With this video you will see so much more including views from the balcony, restaurants, swimming pools, fitness center, the beach and more. There's even views of the bathroom, which I think says a lot for a room. You'll also find out details such as if the hotel has a "kids' club", if the room is air conditioned and what types of restaurants are offered (buffet, fine dining etc) . I also like the summary at the end which provides a list of the hotel features. After viewing this video, you will feel more confident about the hotel you are selecting. I highly recommend this video and the other 5 Hotel Mexico videos to all travel agents and to anyone planning a vacation to Cancun & the Riviera Maya.

I saw this years ago when it showed on HBO, it rocked. He does the BEST impressions and makes timely comedy about current events. Buy this tape and unless you have no sense of humor you will love it! Blake Clark was great too! Let's just say I was looking for a DVD when I found this tape and I WISH I could pay more to get a DVD but it wasn't available!

Revisit "Dead Man's Point" thanks to the Krofft Superstars!
What an awesome nostalgic trip for those of us who grew up in the 1970s! Johnny Whitaker (famous for "Family Affair" and "Tom Sawyer") and Scott Kolden play kids Johnny and Scott living with their Aunt Zelda while their parents take what seems to be a never-ending vacation.

These kids have it made... they live right on the beach, have their own clubhouse and have a friendly sea monster as their companion!

The voices for the different sea monster characters (Sigmund, Burp, Slurp, Sweet Mama and Big Daddy) are absolutely hilarious.

The DVD version includes a sing-a-long of the show's theme song and a great and entertaining interview with the now all-grown-up Whitaker and Kolden.

I love these shows! This is a great series for kids... nothing harmful is taught and like all Krofft shows, the storylines teach morals in a non-threatening way. You see the boys obeying their aunt and giving her respect, you see them stick up for each other (teamwork) and their loyalty to their friend, Sigmund.

This was a very innocent show for a very innocent time in kid's tv... too bad there aren't more shows like this on tv for kids nowadays.

After Hours
Released in VHS Tape by Warner Studios (10 August, 1988)
MPAA Rating: R (Restricted)
Director: Martin Scorsese
Starring: Griffin Dunne and Rosanna Arquette
This well-regarded cult film is a tense Kafka-esque tale concerning what happens to a likable computer guy who is in the wrong place at the wrong time in the city that never sleeps--New York. This is a New York infested with bizarre characters vividly brought to life by a once-in-a-lifetime cast. Griffin Dunne's wonderfully controlled comic performance as Paul Hackett is the glue that holds this increasingly surreal film together. Scorsese utilizes a full array of independent and underground film techniques, including special film speed manipulations, angles, and edits, deftly capturing the strange rhythms of an after-hours New York City. Many will find the jokes clever, and occasionally laugh-out-loud funny. Some, however, will find the film an excruciating series of staged circumstances setting up a sadistically cruel dark nightmare of horrors. And there are a few lines of dialogue so poorly written they remind you how unbelievable the thin story really is. But forgive the film these few lapses--overall it's a wild, surreal ride. The most offbeat character is the beehive-sporting, Monkee-obsessed neurotic played to perfection by Teri Garr. And the moment when Griffin Dunne uses his last quarter to play Peggy Lee's "Is That All There Is" and dances with Verna Bloom while an angry mob searches SoHo for him is an inspired bit of lunacy. --Christopher J. Excellent! A Scorsese Gem!
Martin Scorsese was honored with by the Cannes Film Festival as best Director in 1986 for his brilliant dark comedy After Hours. It is an amazing and immensely funny film which features an absolutely amazing performance by Griffin Dunne and great supporting performances by many up-and-comers. What makes this movie so awesome is the fact that you never know what is going to happen next to this poor sap who just wanted a little love. The story is simple and very clever, with Paul Hackett(Griffin Dunne), a boring word processor, who meets an interesting but odd girl(Rosanna Arquette) in a coffee shop. Returning home, he decides to call her, and he is invited over to the apartment. Paul doesn't know it, but he is about embark on an incredible journey through "after hours" New York, where all the weirdos (...) are free to roam. The weirdos (...) include Cheech and Chong, Teri Garr, Linda Fiorentino, Verna Bloom, Catherine O'Hara(In her first film appearance), and John Heard. Bronson Pinchot gives a memorable cameo as an ambitious word processor in the beginning of the film. You will love this film, especially the shocking finale. Scorsese is the best!

Martin Scorsese's Masterpiece!!
If you're a big Martin Scorsese fan, then you'll love this movie! This is BY FAR one of my favorite movies of all time! If you're expecting an Italian Mafia movie, then think again! Shot for only $4 million, in this DARK COMEDY you will follow a lonely computer programmer Paul Hackett (excellently played by Griffin Dunne) into the dark streets and through the late hours of the night. I'm not going to give away anything but all that I have to say is: A NIGHT FROM HELL!! Griffin's character is so realistic and beilevable, you just can't help getting sucked in! The main music in the film is awsome! It's very mysterious and sets the tone very well! Basically, this film is a masterpiece!! Every single person in this film put in 200% effort, especially Scorsese!! I'm telling you, see this movie!! you will not be sorry if you do and you will regret it if you don't!!

I'll have mine black, please!
Black, black, black is the colour of this comedy from Scorsese, (one from his post-King of Comedy so-called "fallow" period) about a geek and his night on the town. Griffin Dunne is the poor schnook at the centre of things but with Roseanna Arquette, Cheech Marin and the brilliant Terri Garr involved there's plenty more to look at. Never mind the likes of Taxi Driver, Mean Streets, Goodfellas or any of that bobbins - it's a testament to Scorsese's versatility that he still managed to make this work, even if he does have to enlist the help of Bronson 'Balki' Pinchot and ex-Sid Vicious bodyguard Rockets Redglare to secure it. He will be pleased! 'Surrender Dorothy!'

10 Things I Hate About You
Released in VHS Tape by Touchstone Video (08 October, 2002)
MPAA Rating: PG-13 (Parental Guidance Suggested)
Director: Gil Junger
Starring: Heath Ledger and Julia Stiles
It's, like, Shakespeare, man! This good-natured and likeable update of The Taming of the Shrew takes the basics of Shakespeare's farce about a surly wench and the man who tries to win her and transfers it to modern-day Padua High School. Kat Stratford (Julia Stiles) is a sullen, forbidding riot grrrl who has a blistering word for everyone; her sunny younger sister Bianca (Larisa Oleynik) is poised for high school stardom. The problem: overprotective and paranoid Papa Stratford (a dryly funny Larry Miller) won't let Bianca date until boy-hating Kat does, which is to say never. When Bianca's pining suitor Cameron (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) gets wind of this, he hires the mysterious, brooding Patrick Verona (Heath Ledger) to loosen Kat up. Of course, what starts out as a paying gig turns to true love as Patrick discovers that underneath her brittle exterior, Kat is a regular babe. The script, by Karen McCullah Lutz and Kirsten Smith, is sitcom-funny with peppy one-liners and lots of smart teenspeak; however, its cleverness and imagination doesn't really extend beyond its characters' Renaissance names and occasional snippets of real Shakespearean dialogue. What makes the movie energetic and winning is the formula that helped make She's All That such a big hit: two high-wattage stars who look great and can really act. Ledger is a hunk of promise with a quick grin and charming Aussie accent, and Stiles mines Kat's bitterness and anger to depths usually unknown in teen films; her recitation of her English class sonnet (from which the film takes its title) is funny, heartbreaking, and hopelessly romantic. The imperious Allison Janney (Primary Colors) nearly steals the film as a no-nonsense guidance counselor secretly writing a trashy romance novel. --Mark Englehart
Average review score:

Great Cast, Great Script
Although a step-up from the usual mediocre teen flick genre, '10 Things' doesn't *quite* escape that label altogether. The script is very witty, even to the point of being really good, but the developement of its characters is sadly lacking. Heath Ledger's character, Patrick Verona (the male lead), goes too easily from "tough and scary" to "sweet and sensitive", without anything to make us believe it. Since the dialogue shows no evidence of his being in love with Kat (Julia Stiles) until he comes out and says it, it's rather hard to believe. Juliat Stiles character has a similiar problem, going from "grumpy loner" to "happy teen" in hardly a blink. Of course, one hardly notices due to these young actors supurb preformances.

The co-stars steal the show, however. The bumbling new kid who falls for the sweet and popular, if a little shallow, Bianca (Kat's sister) is so likable I wish the story focused on him and all his troubles, and his quirky new friend has some great lines. Allison Janey is wonderful and often provides great comic relief among some flat jokes.

A great movie, worth watching more then once. But not an exellent movie that will go down in history as a classic.

the taming of the shrew?
I'm not going to tell you the synopsis of this movie, nor i will ramble endlessly about all my thoughts when i saw it, ll just limit myself to an introduction of what i like to call my very own pensive, gift from albus dumbledore himself
i have to say i loved this movie, yet it is a teen movie, yes it is an adaptation of shakespeare taming of the shrew (and i dont really like shakespeare), but it was funny, witty, romantic, and sarcastic, my life in a nutshell!
If you needed to find the quintissential romantic-comedy teen flic, besides preety in pink, it would be this (not clueless)it's got everything a young girl want, and the songs, would bring a small to your face (im not saing it's good or bad), it just will

10 Things I Love About This Movie.
I saw this movie in the theater with one of my friends and loved it. For people who don't like Shakespeare, you can't even really tell that it was from a Shakesepeare play 'cause it's so modern. Anyway, the story is basically about four teenagers in high school: Kat Stratford (played by Julia Stiles, 'Down To You'; 'Wide Awake'), Bianca Stratford (played by Larisa Oleynik, "The Secret World of Alex Mack"; 'The Baby-Sitters Club Movie'), Patrick Verona (played by Heath Ledger, 'The Patriot'), and Cameron James (played by Joseph Gordan - Levitt, 'Angels in the Outfield'; 'Halloween H20'; "3rd Rock From The Sun").

Cameron is the new kid in town, and immeidately falls for Bianca, who is beautiful, pure, and perfect and who every guy at school wants. Kat is Bianca's older sister, a rebelious teenager who hates boys, dresses in black, and listens to punk hard metal rock music. Mr. Stratford (the girls' father) won't let Bianca go out on a date with a guy unless Kat goes out with a guy, which is less-likely to happen. Because Cameron is now desparate to go out with Bianca, he makes a deal with the mysterious Patrick Verona to go out on a date with Kat. But Patrick ends up falling in love with Kat and everything seems perfect until the "pretty boy" and professional model, Joey Donner, (played by Andrew Keegan, 'Camp Nowhere') ruins it all by telling Kat that Patrick was payed to go out with her!

All in all, this was a very good movie: well-written, well-produced, well-acted (by all the actors), and well-directed. It's the ideal American high school life...and a movie that should be shared with others! Go out and buy this movie - I gaurentee you'll love it as much as I did!
