Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends - Thomas Gets Bumped
Released in VHS Tape by Anchor Bay Entertainment (22 July, 2003)
MPAA Rating: NR (Not Rated)
Director: David Mitton
Lots of good material this time around. Everyone gets excited when an important engine visits the train yard; Harold thinks he can deliver the mail better than Thomas and Percy; and Edward and Trevor prove that despite being older, they are still useful. A nifty helicopter adds to the excitement and looks great hovering above the set. --Tom Keogh

Thomas Does it Again
I always forget to watch this tape a lot even though it is really good. In Thomas Gets Bumped Thomas track is brocken and Bertie has to take the passengers home. In Edward,Trevor and the Really Useful Party Trevor is invited to a party where he gives children rides. In Diesel does it Again Diesel has to help Duck and Percy when there is too much work at the harbor. In Gordon and the Special Visitor an engine named City of Truro comes and Gordon tries to go as fast as him but he loses his dome. In Donald's Duck after Duck gets his own branch line he pays Donald back for making fun of him by putting a duck in his water tank.
In Percy and the Signal Gordon and James get back at Percy for making fun of them by tellin him there are backing signals. In Thomas, Percy and the Mail Train Thomas and Percy have to work extra hard to deliver mail because Henry was late.
This is a good tape and I recommend it.

A Must-See for the Little Thomas Addicts
A Thomas fan once, a Thomas Fan for life--or that is how I feel about my son's favorite character. This collection of Thomas stories is great. A direct interpretation from the original stories, it brings the characters from the book alive. My son loves it. On a separate note, the live animation and lack of a lot of special effects is a refreshing change from a lot of the other kids movies out there. It lets kids' imagination to develop and that is why I think that my son watches this tape over and over and over....

Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends - Thomas, Percy & The Dragon

BoCo rocks
This is a really good tape. The dragon though scary was pretty funny. Donald & Douglas are 2 of my favorite characters. BoCo is also one of them. In the later tapes Donald & Douglas aren't in it as much as Bill & Ben but they are better. BoCo is really deprived of a good episode. But it was great to see Edward do something good for a change. Percy really isn't in it much either and he's one of the best characters. Percy's Ghostly Trick is a must buy if you like this one

Thomas, Percy & The Dragon is my favorite episode
Well I like Thomas The Tank Engine and this video was to scary for me at the beginning. But I like it when I was older. Thomas, Percy and the Dragon is my favorite episode of Thomas The Tank Engine. Stories as seen on TV's "Shining Time Station". Great Episodes. Thomas, Percy & The Dragon, Donald & Douglas, The Deputation, Time for Trouble, A Scarf for Percy, The Dieseal, and Edward's Expolits. Great video. Thomas, Percy & The Dragon is funny when the other engines didn't belive Percy. The Dragon was even funny to. A Scarf For Percy is funny when Percy step onto some trousers. Video 8!

P.S. I am 10 yrs old.

Great Fun in pulling into the station
This movie was really great and full of suprises like when Percy gets spooked by a "dragon" and when Sir Toppan's hats turn in to a jelly covered scarf for Percy. HA HA!This is a must see Thomas movie and should not be missed!

Alamo Bay
Released in VHS Tape by Columbia/Tristar Studios (10 September, 1997)
MPAA Rating: R (Restricted)
Director: Louis Malle
Starring: Amy Madigan and Ed Harris
Average review score:

Wonderfully written and directed
Alamo Bay should be in everyone's video collection. The story is written beautifully. Loise Malle is a great director. I highly recommend this movie. I am not sure why Tri-Star hasn't yet released this film onto DVD. I would really love to see special features too. But it on video is just fine. Anyone should enjoy this film. I've seen it over ten times and i'm generally a murder mystery/horror fan!!!! Now if that doesn't say anything I don't know what does!

Unnerving, engrossing political drama...
ALAMO BAY is one of those rare films that will engross the viewer or leave him indifferent or even bewildered about "Que paso?" In my estimate French Director Louis Malle has crafted a powerful political drama/tragedy that ultimately approaches the mythic. Ed Harris portrays Shang. He is a former, decorated commbat veteran of the Viet Nam war whose livelihood as a Texas Gulf Coast shrimp fisherman is threatened by the BANK's uwillingness to grant him loan extension for his boat AMERICAN DREAM; and the influx of immigrant, former Vietnamese, novice-fishermen who are willing to work "34-hour days" to stake a claim on the Gulf's limited bounty and establish their own businesses. Amy Madigan plays Glory, his former high school sweet heart. She employs a large number of Vietnamese in her father's (played with quiet ruggedness by Donald Moffat) very profitable, Brand Name shrimping fleet. Political/racial tensions build and escalate; violence threatens. At this moment the Klan appears...ready to exploit the inevitable clash for its own agenda. Director Malle is pitiless in depicting the ironies the film explores. Here is "Shang", All-American hero, perhaps to be "deprived" of his share in the American Dream by the people he fought to defend and the woman he loves. Nor does the Director allow easy answers...particularly in a denouement that unnerves and chastens with its refusal to shrink from the questions: When is patriotism the refuge of the scoundrel and What is the American Dream and who is it for? The last frame is a "shot" of OLD GLORY...Amy Madigan's flaming red hair; sky-blue eyes and grim, pale-as-a-ghost marble visage: sweating, bloody and streaming tears. The AMERICAN IDEA has won...but the cost has been terrible and who, indeed, would eagerly stand to its DEFENSE? The town where many of these events "occurred" two decades ago is called Kemah, a tiny fishing hamlet/suburb of Houston. But it is not for nothing that Louis Malle renamed his fictional battle ground, ALAMO BAY...

Bear Island
Released in VHS Tape by Anchor Bay Entertain (25 March, 1996)
MPAA Rating: PG (Parental Guidance Suggested)
Director: Don Sharp
Starring: Donald Sutherland, Vanessa Redgrave, and Richard Widmark
Average review score:

Bear Island
I saw this movie years ago and many times since over the years...and, I loved it!

This is an all-star cast including such veterans as Vanessa Redgrave, Donald Sutherland, Richard Widmark, Lloyd Bridges, etc (The list goes on). This is one of the better and more enjoyable espionage and mystery movies I have seen over the years and I remember it well.

A weather research vessel en route in the North Atlantic receives a prematurely terminated radio wave transmission. The mystery deepens when the "transmission" (initiated by a 'known colleague' and scientist) is discovered to be hailing from a remote uninhabited island located in the sub-zero Antarctic waters of the North Sea.

The Plot thickens when the research ship feels compelled to investigate; knowing that the island has been deemed off-limits by the international NATO alliance. The character development is great, unfurling hidden secrets of the island and thereby exposing the different motives of each scientist for being where they aren't supposed to be.

A great movie and another I would love to see (and have requested to other retailers) to be marketed on DVD.

If you can get your hands on a VHS copy, I recommend it highly.

It is so long time since I saw the movie that I forgot about what the story is about. But never the less the movie was good.

Gunsmoke reunion movie No. 2
Gunsmoke - The Last Apache -- James Arness as Matt Dillon returns for the second of the Gunsmoke TV movies. Again the story reaches into Matt's past. Matt receives a letter from a woman he hasn't seen in 20 years -- Mike played by Michael Learned. (Flashback scenes from Gunsmoke are presented. From the episode "Matt's Love Story" -- a wounded Matt Dillon loses his memory and falls in love with a widow.) Mike requests his return in the urgent letter. Matt arrives to find her ranch in flames following a raid by the Apache Indians. He is stunned to learn that he and Mike have a daughter named Beth. Beth has been kidnapped by Wolf, a warrior chief for Geronimo. Wolf is played by Joe Lara (star of the syndicated TV series Tarzan: The Epic Adventures). Richard Kiley and Hugh O'Brian also guest star. Color. First aired on CBS in 1990 as a two-hour Gunsmoke movie. Very entertaining.

Reckless - The Sequel
Released in VHS Tape by Anchor Bay Entertainment (08 June, 1999)
MPAA Rating: NR (Not Rated)
Director: David Richards (II)
What's not to like about this follow-up to the touching and hilarious Reckless? That made-for-TV film from Britain's Granada Television concerned the unlikely but quite real love affair between Owen Springer (Robson Green), a mid-30s surgeon who embraces his working-class roots, and Anna Crane (Francesca Annis), the late-40s estranged wife of Richard Crane (Michael Kitchen), a prominent doctor and administrator in the hospital where Owen works. No ordinary medical soap opera, Reckless was a comedy alternately subtle and unabashed, with a wonderful cast, a crisp and smart script, and a lively direction that made ER look stiff and contrived. This 1998 sequel picks up the saga, with Owen and the newly divorced Anna happily living together in frequently carnal bliss and awaiting an imminent appointment at the altar. Richard, in emotional self-exile in Iceland, crosses glacier and fjord to get back to London in time to throw a wrench (or two or three) in their plans. What ensues is near chaos, dirty tricks, and crossed alliances from sundry family members and friends, which puts a terrible pressure on the couple and their unspoken fears. Smart, sophisticated, and sexy, this fine work doesn't slow down for a minute. --Tom Keogh

If you've ever dreamed about being swept off your feet ...
For a thinking (and older) woman, this is IT. It's a hilarious plot based on a very sound and subtle understanding of the choices you may have made at times in your life when you didn't have the confidence to ask yourself, "What is it that really makes me happy?" -- and what it takes to come back to those choices. The show is brilliantly and meticulously cast, from the principals to the minor roles. There are some shows that make you feel like you actually "lived" them -- that you got into one of the lives in the show and actually felt the emotions the characters are working though -- this is one of them.

This is the best show!
I saw the original Reckless Masterpiece Theatre, and it's fabulous! This one also is great. Who could resist the leading man, and the humor is hysterical. Smarty pants remarks abound. Buy it! Watch it!

Secret Life of Kathy Mccormick

MPAA Rating: NR (Not Rated)
Director: Robert Michael Lewis

Very fine story line with a moral, humor and suspense
This is great movie which again reveals the tremendous versatility of Barbara Eden. Although she has played many, many roles she always comes across as in control, not letting anyone get the best of her but still very feminine. When she is taken advantage of by her boyfriend she takes appropriate action by giving him the brushoff (and getting him back). When the society women try to defeat her project she ignores them and plunges ahead and wins . Overall a great plot with the moral- watchout for guys with phoney stories.
