PRETTY GOOD SEQUEL, BUT WHY AIN'T IT ON DVD YET?
IN THIS 1991 FOLLOW-UP TO THE 1982 CULT CLASSIC, AN EVIL SORCERER NAMED ARKLON [WINGS HAUSER], WHO HAPPENS TO BE DAR'S LONG LOST BROTHER, TEAMS UP WITH A WITCH [SARAH DOUGLAS] TO TRAVEL TO MODERN-DAY L.A. WITH A PLAN TO GET A NEUTRON DETONATOR THAT WILL BLOW UP THE WORLD AND DAR [MARC SINGER] MUST STOP HIM BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE. A LITTLE SILLY AT TIMES, BUT THIS SEQUEL IS OK. IT SURE DOESN'T COMPARE TO THE ORIGINAL, BUT IT'S GOOD IF YOU'RE IN THE MOOD FOR ANOTHER LOOK AT THE BEASTMASTER. ONLY ONE QUESTION; WILL THIS ONE EVER BE ON DVD?!!!!

Very good movie, [bad] tape, poor picture quality !
This movie is fantastic. The only problem I have with this VHS Cassette is that they recorded it using Extended Play (EP). That means they sacrificed picture quality to fit the movie on less video tape. It's a very [poor] trick. If you plan to buy this movie (which, again is great !!!) please wait for the DVD because this VHS version has poor picture quality.

FANTASTIC
Thought it was better than all the rest , i really loved this film. Really cool to go back and forth in time, brilliant....

The Gaucho
Released in VHS Tape by Kino Video (11 June, 1996)
MPAA Rating: NR (Not Rated)
Director: F. Richard Jones
Douglas Fairbanks was 44 when he made The Gaucho, one of his most thoughtful and visually rich adventures. As the lusty, live-for-today leader of a South American outlaw band preying upon small villages, he drives out a corrupt garrison from a holy mountain village (which seems to literally hang off the edge of a cliff by the grace of God) and takes over the town like a benevolent dictator. When a plague victim infects a wound of his, the impish roustabout becomes a brooding cloud of despair, until he's selflessly saved by the blessing of the fabled "Miracle Girl." As in The Thief of Bagdad, Fairbanks plays the repentant rascal, but one whose acrobatic antics and cigarette tricks mask a hard-living, hedonistic life: he smokes, drinks to excess, and lives in sin with the sexy Lupe Velez, and a sudden conversion isn't about to change a long life of debauchery overnight. Fairbanks hasn't slowed down a bit, leaping and cavorting with the same jaunty bounce and hearty laugh, but the dark undertones and surprising coda suggest the work of a mature artist rethinking his swashbuckling superhero image in light of his advancing years. Lushly designed and handsomely shot (by Tony Gaudio), The Gaucho is also one of the most gorgeous pictures of the silent era. --Sean Axmaker

BLACK DOOM IN THE ANDES
Douglas Fairbanks pretty much created and monopolized the dashing, confident, self-effacing movie action hero when movies were still young. In "THE GAUCHO," set high in the Andes, he plays an audacious, romantic, guerilla. He carries a sword, a gun and the Argentine bolos which he hurls with amazing skill. Shot in 1928 and based on an idea that Fairbanks claims he received when he visited the healing shrine at Lourdes, France, the story centers on the robbery of a mountain shrine that houses a young girl who has the power to heal. Fairbanks comes to the rescue and hunts down the bandits. In this lavish and beautiful action-packed comedy adventure, Fairbanks plays a roguish and unlikely hero that's a significant departure from the virtuous screen image he nurtured throughout his career. Here, he's a heavy drinker, carries on a decidedly carnal affair with the tempestuous Lupe Valez and falls victim to the fatal plague known as the Black Doom. A bonus feature on the DVD is the notorious Fairbanks starring 1916 coked-to-the gills cult film "The Mystery of the Leaping Fish."

Big, Exciting Film But Thematically Superficial
Film producer-star Douglas Fairbanks Sr. didn't merely craft eye-filling escapist films for audiences of the 1920s. Each film created a world unto itself with its own philosophy. Doug's 1927 hit, THE GAUCHO, came after a long string of swashbuckling epics that began with the relatively modest MARK OF ZORRO in 1920. Each subsequent film was really just a various on the ZORRO theme, some more obvious than others, most notably the sequel, 1925's DON Q, SON OF ZORRO. Bigger than ZORRO yes, but not particularly better.

Stunning audiences with his physical dexterity and acrobatic skill than would make Jackie Chan envious, Fairbanks astutely sensed the dangers of repeating himself. It has been said that he got the idea for making THE GAUCHO while visiting Lourdes in France, the site of a miraculous appearance of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Then too, Mary's repeated appearances in Fatima, Portugal only ten years earlier in 1917 was widely known. Fusing the elements of ZORRO with a religious theme, Fairbanks created a wonderful adventure that had more substance than his previous light-hearted adventures.

THE GAUCHO works best when Fairbanks is in his familar action element. For once, he choses a vivacious leading lady with Lupe Valez and they make an energetic team. More surprising is Doug's decision to play a Latin lover type, chain-smoking his way through the film, a decided departure from his earlier roles. Perhaps due to the death the previous year of Rudolph Valentino, the supreme Latin lover of films, Valentino successors began appearing in 1927 - even Ronald Colman was pressed into service in two or three elaborate swashbucklers opposite Valentino's former leading lady, Vilma Banky. THE GAUCHO seems to be Fairbanks' entry into the Valentino sweepstakes.

The opening prologue seems inspired by the Fatima appearance of Mary to a young girl who is unaffectingly played. But moving ahead ten years in the story, the girl, now an adult, seems more Hollywood than Fatima with her pencilled eyebrows and obvious wig. So too is Fairbanks' treatment of the miraculous when he contracts leprosy - but only on his left hand - and is cured surprisingly quickly by short visit to the shrine. Now seeing "the Light," Fairbanks posts the Ten Commandments on the front of the church proclaiming that they are the only law to live by. But his boastful manner suggests that he has not learned the lesson of humility and the film ends ambiguously over whether he has retained his outlaw ways. The treatment implies that Fairbanks' grasp of Christian theology was rather weak with Our Lady appearing a little too conveniently on cue. But, after all, this is a Fairbanks film. If we want true theology, we should watch a DeMille film (just kidding).

A Fun Fairbanks Film
The Gaucho is a fine Douglas Fairbanks vehicle, which shows his athleticism and charm to good effect. Fairbanks never claimed to be the greatest of actors. The variety of his expressions are somewhat limited. All he really does is laugh at danger. However he had a presence which is irresistible, a quality which draws the viewer to him. As the Gaucho, he plays a South American cowboy/outlaw, who turns into a sort of Zorro like liberator without the mask. He performs any number of great stunts, climbing walls, swinging through the trees like Tarzan and finding all sorts of ways of getting on and off a horse. Fairbanks also has a huge number of party tricks up his sleeve which are wonderfully enjoyable. He never seems to light a cigarette the same way, but performs this simple task with bravado and great skill. The leading lady in The Gaucho is "Mexican Spitfire" Lupe Velez. She grabs Fairbanks at the first opportunity and clings to him with great tenacity, fighting off any other female who comes within reach. She is very fiery, passionate and great fun to watch. One of her best scenes is a tango where she is literally joined to Fairbanks at the hip. The main villain of the piece is Gustav von Seyffertitz. He is always worth watching as he has a very unusual look and a sinister, creepy manner. Unfortunately he doesn't have as much screen time in The Gaucho as he might. It is also worth noting that Mary Pickford appears briefly as a vision of the Virgin Mary. Her cameo only lasts a few seconds, but what she does, she does well.

The black and white print of the Gaucho, on the Kino DVD, is very good. It is clear, sharp and bright and enables all the details of the fine sets to be seen easily. The musical score composed by Sydney Jill Lehman, is highly effective. It consists of South American style tunes which really fit the action. As a bonus the DVD includes an incredible Fairbanks short film from 1916. In The Mystery of the Leaping Fish he plays a detective who is constantly injecting himself with various drugs. He even apprehends the villains by drugging them with narcotics. This is a truly bizarre little film with some jaw dropping scenes which probably would be considered impossible, or at the very least tasteless to film today. This is a really good DVD showcasing one of the biggest of silent film stars. Fans of Fairbanks, or silent films in general, should not hesitate to get it.

Scary Magical Ewoks
This cartoon focuses on Ewoks and their magic. It is more fantasy than Sci Fi. I found the episodes which are strung together without separate titles hard to follow and a bit inane. I think Lucasfilm could do better in the Star Wars universe.

Excellent for children +
This is a wonderful video for so many reasons. 1st of all, it's the closest fans can get to the magical cartoon of the mid-80's. Unfortunately, the whole series (both EWOK seasons) are not out on DVD...yet. 2nd of all, it's fun for the whole family. One of the more innocent cartoons, it stresses family & friend bonds while exploring the best planet of the STAR WARS series. Wicket & friends get into more escapades in this conglomeration of 4 original Ewok adventures than the 2 live-action films combined. It harkens many native legends as well as emphasizing the conflict for good & evil. It combines STAR WARS & hints of LORD OF THE RINGS. Also, the Duloks (evil cousins of the Ewoks) are some of the best characters ever developed for the immortal saga.
There is nothing not to like about this video, except that it does not use the original music from the series. The music made for it isn't half bad though. Enjoy it with your kids & let it take you back to 1985 & a sweet age of innocence.

SEnsational!
I love this movie. I literally watch this film 4 or 5 times a day! This is a special spinoff of the cheeky little characters from Return Of The Jedi. It will make you laugh and cry at the same time! I also got a little scared when the ewoks went into the haunted village.

Poor Corey Feldman
This Movie is typical of bad strait to video horror flicks. A college student, Andy, transfers to a new school, the "cool" kids don't like him, his girlfriend doesn't seem to either, and the result is that he falls in with the wrong crowd. And boy is it the wrong crowd. A bunch of bad actors playing a voodoo cult posing as a fraternity. Eventually Andy catches on that there is something unusual with this group of guys, but not before they make him do a seemingly endless string of bizarre antics.

The interesting, or perhaps the intriguing, event of this film is not any one scene in the movie, but the star, Corey Feldman. Feldman, at least to me, is kind of a cult icon. He had roles in some of the great coming of age/teen idol films of the 80's. As far as I can tell this was the last film he was in. Which I think is just too bad. I would love to see Corey get back in the movies, and back in roles where he can shine. I guess it probably won't happen, but hey, he is above this film.

WEREWOLF and VOODOO COMBO RULEZ!!! BUY IT NOW!!!!!!!!!
Werewolf has a great scene where a werewolf is chasing down a woman in in the middle of nowhere. Before she fell in a big pool of mud we see her white dress was already dirty and if that wasn`t enough she has about five different screams and none of them is coming out of her mouth! This was a such a cool scene! Another memorable scene is where Carrie comes in the house, puts her car keys in her jacket pocket and asks Paul if he is home and he responds being a werewolf and he throws her really hard over the railing and down the stairs and her keys still stays in her pocket and the camra shows the werewolf like he is the hero and she is the villian!Watch for the camra man`s shadow thru out the film and near the end look for grafitti on the desert rocks and watch Joe Estevez and Randall Oliver talk about their silver bullets when it was never explained how and when they got them!Watch for Jorge Rivero to have nearly a dozen differenr hair styles and Tony Zarindast as a werewolf driving a car!A excellent cast is in Werewolf including special appearances by Tony Zarindast,Tony Bova,Neena Belini,R.C.Bates as Sam "The Keeper"(he is such a cool dude)and the special makeup man Mark Williams!I just love lauging at this movie. It`s one heck of a werewolf flick! I love Werewolf!

Voodoo is ok but it is nothing compared to Werewolf! The best part in it is seeing Sara Douglas.Nuff said!

Wow,a real nail-biter..................
This is by far and away,Corey's greatest cinematic achievement to date.We must dismiss all of Corey's past works, because he was a mere child with overbearing parents with addictions.Corey was extremely convincing as a 27 year old college freshman trying to fit in with a covertly demonic fraternity......O.K.....I admit it,it was lame. But,I was an extra in the movie,so watch it and hope you all enjoy my performance.

Five Stars for Tight Black Leather, Negative Two for Midgets
Seek, Locate, and Destroy is a FANTASTIC Blake's Seven episode that introduces a most interesting character, Travis. The Web? Laughable! You might just want to fast forward through The Web (it has NO impact on the plot what-so-ever) and watch Seek Locate Destroy. Don't get me wrong - if your idea of high sci-fi includes midgets hopping about, wearing green tissue paper suits and squeeling at the top of their voices, then this is the episode for you! *NOTE* You might want to hit the mute button during the scene where the mutant midget decimas destroy the laboratory. (I use the term destroy losely, because the scene of destruction is mostly comprised of jumping and yipping, but I think I saw one midget knock over a table!) Why did I waste good money on this video? Because I have the nerd dream of collecting the entire series and let's face it, TRAVIS IS A HOTTIE!....

Blake trapped in a space web, worse and old enemy after him.
The next two titles in Blake 7 called The Web and Seek-Locate-Destroy
Blake and the others outrunning federation pursuit ships for weeks now have just about lost them. What they didn't count on was Cally. Trying to destory key functions of the Liberator and send them to some unknow part of the galaxy. Unknow to any of the crew but Cally mind is placed under control by a group called The Lost. A group from her planet Auron long ago who were exiled and went out into the stars to do dangerous experiments on themselves and other beings. The liberator traveling at speeds unheard off rams itself into some kind of webbing. Blake and the others are stumped as to why they can't get free. The Lost contact Blake informing him that they need power to replace thier own dying power source. Blake makes a teleport and finds two humans fighting off strange creatures weilding crude weapons (Doctor who fans should note that the aliens look an awful lot like Zygons or just took the concept from them and made for that). Worse Blake meet the last of the Lost or should I say the remains of the last of the Lost and his combined minds of the others now dead. Blake finds out they want to kill the creatures that the Lost created along with the web that got out of control. For only they can free the Liberator and its crew. But Blake doesn't know that federation pursuit ships are fast on thier trail.
In the next episode entitled Seek-Locate-Destory
We are introduced to the main villianess Supreme Commander of Federation Forces Servalan (Doctor Who fans should note she appeared in "The Two Doctors")who would dog Blake until his capture or his death. She would like that latter. Her first act to stop Blake is bring in Space Commander Travis a man who knows Blake all to well. Seeing as how he was the one who took Travis eye and arm when Blake was leader of the first rebellion. Travis wants nothing more then to see Blake dying before him as he aims his gun at Blake to get his revenge. He has his chance when he finds out that Blake and the others just hit a communications centre and ran off with a cyper device but in the process of getting away Cally is hurt and left behind. Blake has to find a way to get Cally back and avoid Travis traps along the way.
Now the stage has been set for fans to watch the villans try and stop or even capture Blake. The charter of Travis would be in many of the adventures to come but Servalan was the true villian of Blake 7 and I couldn't see it any other way.

New wrinkles in the B7 universe
This tape collects two episodes of "Blake's 7," the classic British space adventure TV series. These two installments continue the adventures of Blake, who leads his crew of rebels in their quest to overthrow the corrupt, tyrannical Federation.

In "The Web," the spaceship Liberator is trapped in a giant web in space, and Blake bargains for help to get it free. This episode features a genetically-engineered race of creatures known as the Decimas. There are some genuinely surreal and disturbing scenes in "The Web," as well as an interesting moral dilemma for Blake.

In "Seek-Locate-Destroy," Blake masterminds a daring raid on a Federation facility. This episode is especially important in the overall saga for introducing the recurring villains Servalan and Travis. This episode also reveals the conflict at work within the Federation and its space officer corps. Travis' fascinating backstory is part of this conflict.

Overall, these two episodes are good examples of B7's first season. If you like low-budget sci-fi with well-written dialogue and memorable character dynamics, check this tape out.

Further B7 foundations
The second volume of "Blake's 7" on video contains two more episodes of this beloved British sci-fi series. In "Cygnus Alpha" and "Time Squad," the foundations of the B7 saga are still being established. This series tells the story of a band of rebels who wage a campaign against an oppressive interplanetary power known as the Federation.

"Cygnus Alpha" opens with escaped prisoners Blake, Avon, and Jenna in possession of a mysterious alien spacecraft (given the name "Liberator"). They stage a mission to rescue other prisoners from the Federation penal colony on Cygnus Alpha. There are some good suspenseful scenes, and the episode also contains an interesting depiction of a religious cult that has evolved on the planet. The B7 crew dynamics continue to evolve as the story unfolds.

In "Time Squad," Blake masterminds a daring attack on a Federation facility. This episode introduces a new regular character: Cally, a telepath from the planet Auron. By the end of these two episodes, the original "Blake's 7" of the title (including the computer named Zen) are fully assembled, and ready to chart their bold course into sci-fi history.

Viewing these episodes (which set the stage for even better installments to come), I am struck at how much later space operas like "Babylon 5" and "Farscape" seem to echo some of the themes and narrative strategies of B7. Yes, B7's special effects and props may look a bit primitive today, but the show had a wit and intelligence that are still sharp. If you're a sci-fi fan who hasn't yet discovered "Blake's 7," check out this and other videos in the series.

Blake has a ship now he needs a crew..... on to Cycnus Alpha
The next volume of Blake 7 with two titles called "Cygnus Alpha" and "Time Squad". Roj Blake former rebel leader now prisoner on his way to Cygnus Alpha was written off dead along with Jenna and Avon by the captain of the prisoner ship taking him and the others to the prison planet. What the captain doesn't know is that Blake and the others are alive and figuring out the newly dubbed ship Liberator and what is offers to Blake in his quest to stop the federation. Zen the ships computer is not what you would call forth coming with answers about who made Zen and why no one was on board still. Avon thinks Zen is defective, Blake thinks Zen knows more then he is willing to let on. Jenna just pushed a button that sent them flying thorugh the universe at break neck speed. Blake realizing he needs a cerw heads for Cygnus Alpha knowing that those on the ship as he would want to get off that planet as quickly as they arrived. Blake, Jenna and Avon all make discoveries on board the Liberator. The most important is the teleport device with witch they can go down on the planet without landing. Meanwhile Gan, Villa and the others land or should I say dropped on Cygnus Alpha where they find a clut has been formed by the prisoners sent before them. They are controlled by a madman who (Played by veteran actor of such other great BBC shows and of other movies Brian Blessed) is called "He who Must be obyed". Blake finds out that those on Cygnus Alpha are infected with some kind of illness and He who must be obeyed has the only cure. Blake has to find a way to get the cure get the others out and begin in earnest his mission. What will Blake do?
In the next Episode entitled Time Squad
We see Blake and the others adjusting themselves to life on the ship. Blake has picked his first target it the federation planet Saurian Major holding a vital communcation network. Also in hope to try and find rebel natives trying to stop the federation as well. Along the way they find a small craft floating in space with a distress beacon asking for help. Blake and the others bring the craft aboard. Inside they find three men forzen. Not knowing where they were going or where they are from they deforst them and try to help. While waiting they arrive on Saurian Major. Blake, Avon and Villa teleport down and try and make contact with the rebels. Gan and Jenna stay on board but face challenges from the three from the craft. Blake makes contact with but a lone rebel left after all the others are gone. A woman not from the planet but from a planet called Auron a woman called Callie. She helps Blake and the others destroy the network all the while Gan and Jenna are fighting to save the ship themselves and Blake when they need to get out. All in all it was really the first four episodes that would set the stage for Blake and his seven. Those wishing to think of jumping ahead shouldn't because these were what laid the foundation for a rather long running show.

Enjoyable, but hardly historically correct
"Heroes of Telemark" is an enjoyable sixties Hollywood war movie. But view it for entertainment (and Kirk Douglas), not as a history lesson. For that - and indeed for a filmatically better movie! - try instead "La bataille de l'eau lourde" (Jean Dreville / Titus Vibe-Müller, 1947). It's more accurate, more dramatic, has better photography - and even have some of the original saboteurs playing themselves.

Spartacus takes on the Nazis in Norway
Based on a true story. Norwegian resistance fighters sabotage the Nazi German effort to produce heavy water for German atomic research during World War Two. Breathtaking snowy Norwegian locations serve as a beautiful backdrop for the plot. Kirk Douglas superbly plays the role of a Norwegian physics professor who, though originally content to wait out the war, is soon pulled heart and soul into the struggle. Though somewhat toned down from the book of the same name (The Germans were much nastier in the printed version), the spirit of the conflict is accurately portrayed without the superhuman fiction that is found in other war movies of the 1960's. As a bit of trivia, Kirk Douglas accepted a starring role in this movie as a favor to Director Anthony Mann. Anthony Mann was the original director for SPARTACUS before he was replaced by Stanley Kubrick.

Awsome
This is a really good movie. Kirk palys the role as a NOrwegian really well.

I liked it.

Suspense you can stir with a spoon
If memory serves me correctly, this film was a made-for production on HBO back in 1985. The cast is top-notch, and the story plays on serial killers from the '70's and early '80's. I won't reveal the entire plot, but I will say that this is a somewhat disturbing picture to watch. Especially while alone in the dark. I recommend viewing this movie with at least another person in the room. Just make sure you know that person well, and that your telephone is off the hook...

BEWARE
A note of caution: This VHS is in the lousy EP mode.

The Toilers and the Wayfarers
Released in VHS Tape by (15 December, 1997)
MPAA Rating:
Director: Keith Froelich
A modest knockoff of My Own Private Idaho, The Toilers and the Wayfarers rests heavily on the well-sculpted shoulders (and more) of its young hero, Dieter (Matt Klemp). Dieter and his friend Phillip (Andrew Woodhouse) are outcasts in the German-American town of New Ulm, Minnesota. Phillip, who knows that he's gay, runs away to Minneapolis. Dieter starts to hang out more with Udo (Ralf Schirg), a recent immigrant from Germany who's a bit of a boozer and a loose cannon. The two of them also flee New Ulm for the big city, where Dieter discovers that Phillip has become a street hustler. But Dieter has also discovered his own sexuality, and the two friends become lovers. Grainy black-and-white cinematography gives The Toilers and the Wayfarers a striking look. The script meanders a bit but has a forthright charm, much like its star. --Bret Fetzer

Art, form and grace
This was a walk off of the beaten path. It's filmed in black and white with a mix of subtitles and English. It was rather well done and an enjoyable way to spend an evening. This is a very sexy film without any detailed sex. It's done so well that it's better than seeing the detailed act, it allows for you to fill in the gaps. It gives you a wonderful story and great acting from the lead. It was well worth the cost and I got much more than I expected. The lead is very convincing as a fresh, unsoiled young man in a town that hold no hope for growth. You see him transform before you're eye's as he discovers the reality of what waits outside the small town, on the path he has to travel. This is a tastefully sexual and seductive film that will remind you of what it was to be young and unsoiled, it will excite you're senses and leave you pondering what will happen to him now?
Not all the actors turned in great work so I felt four stars was fair. It's worth it for the lead. His acting was great and he looked splendid, as you will see for yourself.

Deter goes to the big city
Deter (Matt Klemp; now thats a Germanic name)and Phillip (Andrew Woodhouse) are best friends in high school; while talking during gym class the over bearing gum instructor (his acting isn't convincing) punishes Deter for the infraction and he get "spanked". Meeting down at the river afterwards, Phillip informs Deter " I burned my gym uniform "; they tossel about and Phillip starts to kiss Deter; at first he looks like he might be injoying it but pushes Phillip away, "What are you doing ?". Gets up and runs away, Phillip apologises, but Deter keeps running down the road and you see no more of Phillip.
Udo (Ralf Schrig) has moved from Germany to the USA to live with is aunt; by the way Udo is Deters cousin. Udo sits around his Aunt's house and drinks and doesn't seem to want to get a job (reminds me of a roomate I once had); auntie is not impressed.
She kicks the bucket and Udo inherits aunties house and money that he squanders it on a new car etc. Well Deters family is not impressed with this behavior and is concerned with his constant compaionship and time with Deter. While Udo drives up to show Deter his new car, the father has a show down with Udo and suggest he has become to close and personal with his son, and that Uno is after Deter's body. (give the guy a break dad, he doesn't know anybody else in town his age that speaks his language)Deter speaks his opnion and defends Uno and his overly strict prussian father blows a cork and drags Deter into the house; they have words and Deter admits (you miss part of this in the subtitle???) that he is gay not Uno. I love this next scene; you see Deter's room and then hear "F---K YOU!" and deter enters and slams the door; pops really P.Oed now and spanks Deter on his bare bottom. Deter has had enough and goes over to Uno's and hides out there and convinces him to take to Minneapolis to join Phillip. To keep it short they do go on the road, Thelma and Louise style, and join up with Phillip (who has been writting to Deter).
Uno can't hold a job; Phillip has resorted to prostitution and convinces Deter to do the same; Deter and Phillip have reconciliated and become lovers now but Detrer gets busted by the vice squad; who inform him his father doesn't want him back.
Promising to show where the others live, he breaks away from the police and decides it best to leave town.
I didn't like the ending; felt like it left you hanging. The acting was for the most part good, Andrew Woodhouse'es acting was forced; they should have cast someone else. The "mother" was terrible.
I enjoyed the movie as it shows what can happen to a kid if he is forced, one way or the other, to leave home and live on the streets.

I LOVED THIS MOVIE!
This is a very captivating, erotically charged film. Matt Klemp, the young actor who plays Dieter, acts with such sensitivity and pace, that I have re-watched this film many times. I don't remember being so fascinated by a character in a very long time. His beauty is great enough (I couldn't take my eyes off of him), but his acting was really superb. What gets me about this film is how horrible the adults treat this very sweet 16-year-old, who possesses such goodness: he takes 10 swats from his sadistic gym coach for his boyfriend; Dieter's father, who gives the impression that he loves him, calling him a young man when he allows Dieter to have a beer, hypocritically turns around and spanks him like a child when he suspects his son of homosexual behavior, and then won't let him come home after he has run away and is found. Dieter is an example of a very brave, innocent young man too good for his elders!
