Adam at 6 00 Am
Released in VHS Tape by Twentieth Century Fox (28 June, 1990)
MPAA Rating: PG (Parental Guidance Suggested)
Director: Robert Scheerer
Starring: Michael Douglas, Lee Purcell, and Joe Don Baker
Average review score:

Interesting, but not great
The last part of this film impressed me some years ago, and I finally saw it again a few days ago, with a friend. We agreed that it was interesting to see, although the story is a bit thin. Interesting to see Michael Douglas in 1970, and the ending is still impressive, but I think they would make it a much stronger film if they made it today.

Follow your own road
Often the smaller, nearly forgotten films reveal more about a period in time than the famous ones. This is such a film, featuring a fine performance by a young Michael Douglas, and an equally fine one by Joe Don Baker. Rather than opting for the stereotype of Intellectual versus Working Class, we see two men from very different backgrounds strike up an honest friendship, with insightful dialogue about living a meaningful life. Lee Purcell is equally good as the romantic interest who comes to embody a way of life that's both attractive & confining. While a film about & set during the 60s, the questions asked are timeless: how much of your own soul are you willing to compromise for the sake of what seems like happiness? What do you really want from life? This intelligent film is perfect viewing for anyone seeking an authentic existence, with a striking final image that will linger. Recommended!

Adam @ 6:00A.M.
I loved this movie! Maybe, because my parents wrote it. And, it was filmed in my Mother's home town. It was Michael Douglas' first movie & my parents first movie as well. We always had the paperback edition of this movie in our house. This was the movie to get my parents started in Hollywood as well as Michael Douglas. Although, he would have anyway, considering who he is..

all Happy Ending fans stop here!
All right, so this isn't really a happy ending either. (the show wasn't really a 'happy ending' kind of series) The problem with Blake's 7, after this volume, is that it becomes ever darker and darker and more reliant upon needless violence to flesh out many of the stories to the required time. This is a pity, too, because Blake's 7 (up to this point) always seemed to me how the BBC would have done Star Trek, had they been asked to produce it. While it is fun, in a series, to see all your favorite characters 'doing it all again, one more time', watching the way that season 4 destroys the characters and everything that they've worked for almost makes one wish that the BBC hadn't extended the show the extra season. On the other hand, perhaps I am just being morbid. Watch the remaining episodes if you wish, but mark my words: it will all just end in tears.

... the jaws of death ...
A welcome "return" (?) of a missing central character in Terminal in a well written episode. Should the series have ended with this episode? No. There are darker sides to come in series 4 ...

Avon may have found Blake but the cost is the Liberator
The next vol. of Blake's 7 entitled TERMINAL and RESCUE

In the epsidoe entitled TERMINAL
Avon has been avoding the crew. The few times Avon has been corned by any of the crew he has threaten to kill them. The only clue they have is the heading for the planet called Terminal. What little to know of the planet is that it was man made and it seems that Avon is going alone. Avon goes down and finds a Federation base and there he finds....Blake. The others begin to worry so Tarrant and Cally head down as well. But Dayna and Villa are being attacked by some kind of space leech that is killing Liberator. Avon soon finds out it is a trap by Servalan she wants nothing more then the Liberator. Avon not knowing what is happening to the Liberator begins a deadly bargin that may or may not work out. This marks a truly sad point in the series with the loss of the Liberator and marking a darker turn in the universe of Blake's 7 that no one would ever thought of.
In the next epsidoe entitled RESCUE
The Liberator is destoyed even worse the base that Avon and the others were in has just exploded with Cally still in it. Avon, Villa, Tarrant,Dayna and Orac have nothing, no weapons and very little chance to live. The life on Terminal is dangerous but all seems not lost a ship lands and a salvage operator named Dorian comes to the rescue. Soon on board the ship Scorpio they head to where Dorian lives and works. But all seems not to be as Dorain has a vast complex and seems to be getting older by the second. Even his compaion the trigger happy Soolin seems to wonder what is going on. Have Avon and the others found themselves in a trap that not even the federation could have come up with. If so then who is springing the trap?

Will there be a second series?
... we all wondered when watching the final moments of "Orac", a masterly episode. "redemption" is a very disappointing follow up but "orac" paves the way for risky catastrophic series finales. Keep watching

What is ORAC and who in the devil is after Zen?
The next thrilling volume of Blake's 7 contains epsidoes entitled
ORAC and Redempton
In the epsidoe entitled ORAC
Blake unable to help the pilot or the doctor who crashed landed goes to the planet they were heading for the planet Aristo where the pilot dying words were "Federation willing to pay any price for....ORAC". Blake wants to know who or what is ORAC and why the federation will go to such lengeths to aquire it. Unknown to Blake and the others Servalan and Travis have already landed on Aristo and are searching the near water planet for ORAC. Blake enroute notices that Avon, Villa, Gan and Jenna all have radiation sickness and no medical supplies to help them. Blake gambles with his crew to find ORAC, save them all and somehow escape from the clutches of Servalan and Travis.
In the next epsidoe entitled Redemption
Blake has a new weapon in his fight against the Federation and his name is ORAC. However ORAC is being difficult and doesn't seem to be very helpful to Blake and the others. ORAC shows the crew an image of the Liberator then exploding. Blake is horrified to see the ship he is on explode. Blake doesn't know what to do. Just then an unknown ship comes right at them they try to our run it but it matches speed for speed. Blake and the others figure it is not the Federation but they also wonder who can create a ship like the Liberator? Soon Zen can not speak to the crew they are attacked and taken prisoner. Blake trying to figuyre out who this new threat is and can he avoid his future?

Introducing Orac
Volume 7 of "Blake's 7" on video contains two more episodes of this engrossing British sci-fi TV series. The first of the pair, "Orac," introduces a new character--the artificial intelligence named Orac--to the crew. The second episode, "Redemption," delves into the mystery behind the space ship Liberator.

"Orac" is a suspenseful continuation of the previous episode, "Deliverance" (on tape 6). As the episode begins, Blake's crew is sick with radiation poisoning, and are racing to the planet Aristo--where they hope to find medicine for their sickness, and also to deliver a life-saving device to a dying scientist. But the crew has some surprises in store for them. This episode is rich in irony and intrigue.

"Redemption" contains an element of mystery as the crew tries to figure out an ominous prediction from supercomputer Orac. The episode opens with a battle in space, and the crew's odyssey continues as they encounter a strange, but highly advanced, alien civilization. These episodes are essential chapters in the B7 saga. If you like sci-fi with compelling characters and memorable dialogue, check out these and other episodes of this great series.

Voodoo

Poor Corey Feldman
This Movie is typical of bad strait to video horror flicks. A college student, Andy, transfers to a new school, the "cool" kids don't like him, his girlfriend doesn't seem to either, and the result is that he falls in with the wrong crowd. And boy is it the wrong crowd. A bunch of bad actors playing a voodoo cult posing as a fraternity. Eventually Andy catches on that there is something unusual with this group of guys, but not before they make him do a seemingly endless string of bizarre antics.

The interesting, or perhaps the intriguing, event of this film is not any one scene in the movie, but the star, Corey Feldman. Feldman, at least to me, is kind of a cult icon. He had roles in some of the great coming of age/teen idol films of the 80's. As far as I can tell this was the last film he was in. Which I think is just too bad. I would love to see Corey get back in the movies, and back in roles where he can shine. I guess it probably won't happen, but hey, he is above this film.

WEREWOLF and VOODOO COMBO RULEZ!!! BUY IT NOW!!!!!!!!!
Werewolf has a great scene where a werewolf is chasing down a woman in in the middle of nowhere. Before she fell in a big pool of mud we see her white dress was already dirty and if that wasn`t enough she has about five different screams and none of them is coming out of her mouth! This was a such a cool scene! Another memorable scene is where Carrie comes in the house, puts her car keys in her jacket pocket and asks Paul if he is home and he responds being a werewolf and he throws her really hard over the railing and down the stairs and her keys still stays in her pocket and the camra shows the werewolf like he is the hero and she is the villian!Watch for the camra man`s shadow thru out the film and near the end look for grafitti on the desert rocks and watch Joe Estevez and Randall Oliver talk about their silver bullets when it was never explained how and when they got them!Watch for Jorge Rivero to have nearly a dozen differenr hair styles and Tony Zarindast as a werewolf driving a car!A excellent cast is in Werewolf including special appearances by Tony Zarindast,Tony Bova,Neena Belini,R.C.Bates as Sam "The Keeper"(he is such a cool dude)and the special makeup man Mark Williams!I just love lauging at this movie. It`s one heck of a werewolf flick! I love Werewolf!

Voodoo is ok but it is nothing compared to Werewolf! The best part in it is seeing Sara Douglas.Nuff said!

Wow,a real nail-biter..................
This is by far and away,Corey's greatest cinematic achievement to date.We must dismiss all of Corey's past works, because he was a mere child with overbearing parents with addictions.Corey was extremely convincing as a 27 year old college freshman trying to fit in with a covertly demonic fraternity......O.K.....I admit it,it was lame. But,I was an extra in the movie,so watch it and hope you all enjoy my performance.

Roy Orbison's big mistake
The mistake isn't this film, but the decision that led to it.In early 1965, Roy Orbison left Monument Records - where he had his biggest success - for MGM Records, partly so he could try his hand at movies. His recording career promptly skidded downhill (at least in the US), and this silly Western comedy was the only film he completed; he's adequate enough, but when he's not singing he seems bland and colorless. Still, if you're a big Roy Orbison fan, or a fan of this kind of movie, this tape is for you.

No glasses!WAY COOOOLL DUDES!
If you like Roy or his music, which you should, this is your movie.Campy as all get out but weren't they all at this period.Better then any beach movie this because the music isn't teeny bopper.Learn it,Love it,Live it.

If it's Roy It's Great
If you are a Roy O. fan you gotta have this movie ! His one and only where he performs a roll not as himself but as an actual charactor.
It's not the best movie you'll ever watch but if you are down in the dumps this will certainly make you laugh.
The music by Roy makes up for a simple story plot and Hey ! After all it is Roy Orbison....
I say Get it...Enjoy... You'll be glad you bought it !
Roy's two biggest fans...Lois ( The Mommy) and 10 year old son Cory

Beyond Suspicion
Released in VHS Tape by Fox Home Entertainme (24 July, 2001)
MPAA Rating: R (Restricted)
Director: Matthew Tabak
Starring: Anne Heche and Jeff Goldblum
Beyond Suspicion is a little too thoughtful to be accurately called a thriller, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. Jeff Goldblum plays insurance salesman John Nolan, who is passively content in his yuppie lifestyle until one night when he's caught in the middle of a robbery. Augie, a store clerk, is killed, and Nolan becomes so obsessed in finding a little meaning in Augie's death that he begins to gradually take over what would have been his life. But of course, all lives are complicated, and Augie's life as an ex-con was doubly so. Goldblum gives one of his trademark quirky performances, and it works well here, as he captures Nolan's discomfort in his own skin. Though not the edge-of-your-seat suspense movie its title might suggest it is, Beyond Suspicion is an interesting, patient, and thoughtful film that takes care to flesh out even minor characters. --Ali Davis

Auggie Rose Beyond Suspicion
Suppose it's easy to pick apart any movie, but if the story
remains in your mind after the next day, what does it matter?
Sure, Auggie Rose must'a set Fox back in sales, they aren't
giving it any play. Goldblum and Heche!? Together!?
And...a Darren Aronofsky film it isn't.

So what? It's well written, nicely filmed and decently acted.

Matthew Tabak wrote and directed this little verite piece,
and the players have worked magic with their cameos, to the
point where it just feels comfortable to watch, like wearing
an old plaid shirt and a pair of levi's on a Friday night,
sitting on the couch with your favorite girl and a frostie.

Only hope Fox gives Tabak the chance to write/direct again.

Fresh Quirky Writing and Character Development
I'm not surprised this was a made for cable movie now released on DVD and titled "Auggie Rose" (originally and more aptly) or "Above Suspicion" (more recently and less aptly). That is because the cable industry will frequently take a chance on a script with less than blockbuster appeal. This film is a case in point with Jeff Goldblum given a chance to develop his acting chops by playing insurance executive John Nolan, who becomes more and more obssesed with the life of the late Auggie Rose. Rose died as a result of a deli-liquor hold up when Nolan was in the store. Nolan feels guilty about Rose's death because he had made Rose replace a bottle, which startled the robber into shooting. However, guilt quickly turns into something more as Nolan starts taking over Rose's life, including meeting the woman Rose corresponded with but never met. Nolan becomes Rose when he meets her. Probably we could have used more motivation for the Nolan character's extraordinary choices throughout the film but Goldblum makes it work, that this guy wants out of his present life. Heche is very good as the girlfriend. Goldblum and Heche are quite equal in their roles, both showing a great deal of acting talent and character development. Some harder edges and clearer motivation in the script would have pushed it up to a 5 star movie. As it is, it is a strong 4 star movie.

Great Movie
I think it's one of the most original films I have seen in a long time.

One of the Best B-Action Flicks Ever.
Paranoid atmosphere, strong camera work, brutal action scenes, and amazingly good acting combine to make this flick unique in its class. Low budget action movies are usually stagey and mechanical, with actors sleepwalking through their roles. Not here. Michael Ironside's simple death scene is acted with such enthusiasm that it stops the show. And Jeff Wincott is the most underrated hero in the movies today. Action fans will not be disappointed.

A bit on the dark side-but vert good!
This is a though-provoking movie shot in a very interesting manner. The content is a bit eery, but the quality is superior for a B-action flick. Jeff Wincott is great in his performance, as in all his works, and is way too under-rated. I would rent this one again. Wincott flicks are always worth the viewing. The storyline is captivating and the end is anything but uplifting, but it keeps your attention.
