A New Holiday Classic
This movie is a story of love, sacrifice and giving. The film is set in the 1950s in North Carolina. A boy from an impoverished family tries to find a way to buy his younger sister with polio an angel doll for Christmas, to accompany her favorite book, "The Littlest Angel." The child actors are superb. The story is extemely touching. The movie is for everyone. It will be given to many of my friends and family this and every Christmas.

Grandmother's Choice
Every Christmas season I look for gifts that will "keep on giving". This year when I saw "The Angel Doll" I knew right away that I had found the perfect gift for my grandchildren and their parents.

Angel Doll Should Become a Classic
In the way "It's A Wonderful Life" shows the triumph of the human spirit over life's obstacles and injustices, so "The Angel Doll" transports the viewer to a time of loyalty and simplicity. At Christmas and beyond, the film reminds us that what truly matters is choosing to care enough to go the extra distance. We can recall that, like the Littlest Angel, giving that which is dearest to our hearts -- our love -- is the greatest gift of all.

An interesting pairing of 2 cynical works
The bulk of this video is the funny, wry tale of some teenage boys in the South at the time of the Civil War who form a small group under the distant leadership of a fired-up old patriot. With drill manual in one hand and fractious horse in the other, their teenage commander tries to turn them into a crisp fighting machine. Most of the adventures occur only in their overheated imaginations until the story abruptly turns tragic and the boys re-think their idealized view of war. This satirical work by Twain is concluded (as part of the story) with his very bitter "War Prayer," delivered in this version by one of the characters from the major story. Although liberties have been taken with Twain's original plan, it is a very effective piece of scriptwriting. Will provoke a lot of discussion by middle school and high school students. No offensive language or visual content. Highly recommended.

The Land Before Time
Released in VHS Tape by Universal Studios (28 January, 2003)
MPAA Rating: G (General Audience)
Director: Don Bluth
Starring: Gabriel Damon and Pat Hingle
This 1988 animated feature from Don Bluth (An American Tail) focuses on an orphaned young dinosaur, Littlefoot, who has to make his way to the paradise of the Great Valley in order to survive a plague. Along the way, he meets up with some other dinos from different species, and they all bond and travel together. On the way, they have plenty of adventures. Even with elements of suspense, this is a pretty relaxed movie that isn't in a particular hurry to roll out its story. Kids will like the originality of the concept, and the themes of friendship and cooperation are well woven into the fabric of the entertainment, plus the music is great. Bluth's artwork looks good, though--as always--he never seems to quite catch up with the quality of the Disney machine. --Tom Keogh

The start of a great series.
I first saw this movie several years before my kids were born, and I enjoyed it. But watching it with kids is even more enjoyable. My kids love this movie. It teaches them how if you stay with your friends then things will work out good.

The story is centered around Littlefoot the leader of this group of kid dino's. Spike, Cera, Ducky and Petrie all join together in search for the great vally after being seperated from their families.

This is a sad movie, a scary movie and a happy movie all in one. I think that the voices of the dinosaurs are great, they realy show their emotions.

This movies shows how different dinosaurs of different species need to work together to survive.

My favorite dino is Petrie.

Discover A Land Before Time
Embark on a journey into an enchanting prehistoric adventure with dinosaur pals Littlefoot, Cera, Spike, Ducky and Petrie in this acclaimed animated classic for the entire family. In a long-ago age of rumbling volcanoes and perilous earthquakes, a young bracheosaurus named Little Foot suddenly finds himself on his own. Setting to find the lush feeding grounds of the legendary Great Valley, he meets up with four other young dinosaurs who agree to join his quest. On their daring trek across a landscape filled with excitement and danger, the brave little band encounters hungry predators and daunting challenges as they discover new lessons in life and the importance of teamwork.

Presented by Steven Spielberg and George Lucas with direction by Don Bluth, The Land Before Time is a brilliantly imaginative, delightfully animated tale of friendship, loyalty and love, certain to capture the hearts of viewers young and old.

One of the best movies!
What can I say about this movie? It's a beautiful and still remains a movie I can get my entire family to watch. It has the perfect mixture of action, sadness, occasional humor, and BEAUTIFUL music. Listen to the credits, if only to hear "If We Hold On Together." It also teaches an excellent lesson without preaching it at you. And a single quote from this movie will forever stand out in my mind:

"Let your heart guide you...it whispers so listen closely"

The Only Good One
Sorry If I sound like a killjoy or anything. But, what the [heck] is with the songs in the sequels of this movie? They put in songs in Sercet of NIMH 2 and that made it awful. They put songs in Land Before Time II and that made it awful too. If the oringal movie hasn't got a song, it's for a good reason. The only song in the first movie is the end credits.
Land Before Time follows the adventures of Littlefoot and his dinosaur pals in search of the Great Valley to find enough food to eat. A good moive and the only Land Before Time movie.

Great video with a lesson!!
