Beautifully documented and narrated video.
When I saw this documentary on TV in South Africa, I knew I had to have a copy of it. It took me ages to find a copy but it was well worth the wait. Robin Williams is down to earth, comical and genuinely interested in what he is doing. An absolute must for any dolphin lover and/or Robin Williams fan!!!

Highly enjoyable and fascinating
An excellent documentary! Robin Williams brings a special warmth and antic humor to this beautifully filmed show about one of nature's most interesting animals, the dolphin. If you love the sea and it's animals, this program should not be overlooked. Just observing Williams' wonderful relationship with the subject matter makes this video one to view over and over again.

Amazing
This is an amazing and mood lifting video.Dolphins are intelligent creatures and I was glued to my television throughout this whole video!

Robin how he was meant to be
Robin is at his best when the script is either loose or nonexistent. Here you will see some of Robin's best works. A masterpiece in its own right. Get this movie for fantastic ad-libbed brilliance. Also, with guest singer Paul Simon and brief appearance by Art Garfunkel... how can you go wrong?

Two of my favourite things... Robin Williams and SNL!
There is only one thing better than Saturday Night Live and thats Robin Wiliams live! He is really out there and can make me laugh like no one else! He does some great skits on this video including acting out Shakespear and my favourite in the future with Dana Carvey as his son! This is another rare snl video so if you can get a hold of it don't hesitate to snap it up!

A Mommy for Mindy/Mork Meets Robin Williams

Starring: Robin Williams and Pam Dawber

Problaly the most dramatic episodes in the series
When I was little I was a HUGE fanatic of the series (okay I still am, but that's not the point here) These two episodes showcase some of the best dramatic (and we are talking serious acting) from Williams and Dawber.

In the first one, Mindy discovers she has a major case of represed grief after learning her father is remarrying. Mindy's nightmare flash back scared the living daylights out of me when I was little, and it is still very sobering.

The second episode is more typical except at the end when Mork, lamenting celebrity, rattles off a list of famous people who died too young. Although Williams is a master actor, you can tell he slips out of character for a moment when he ads John Lennon with a crack in his voice. Imediately followed by silence (as opposed to the usual gag-signing off, it too is very sobering. Even those too young to remember John Lennon will know the signifigance of the change in plot.

A Ironic display at Robins part
I find this show hilarous only I wish that you would allow me to buy it I can't get into it!

Fabulous Fun For Families
Robin Williams is the greatest female impersonator in the world! And he looks so cute in this movie about a man dressing up as a woman to get to James Bond (Pierce Bronson)'s heart! Sweet movie that the whole family can enjoy! Bearly any cussing even! Great storyline, acting, makeup effects and direction! James Bond even has a hairy chest!

American Dreamer
Released in VHS Tape by Twentieth Century Fox (20 April, 1989)
MPAA Rating: PG (Parental Guidance Suggested)
Director: Rick Rosenthal
JoBeth Williams plays an unfulfilled housewife who wins a trip to Paris after entering a short-story contest. Once there, she is hit by a car and wakes up believing she is the ingenious and brave heroine from her story. A series of misadventures leads her on a merry chase with fellow bumbler Tom Conti. The casting is a little dubious, but the ever adorable Conti gives this charm. It may rip off Romancing the Stone--without emulating that flick's witty dialogue or sexuality--but this appealing fluff remains a pleasant, if slight, diversion. --Rochelle O'Gorman
Average review score:

For the Rebecca Ryan in all of us
Who hasn't fantasized about adventure and intrigue in exotic locations? This movie is a delight--funny, charming, and romantic. I've seen it over and over, and can't get enough. Tom Conti is perfectly cast as the bemused, exasperated, unwilling, and finally entranced hero, but the show really belongs to Jobeth Williams. Her portrayal of a vaguely dissatisfied but still devoted wife who accidentally takes on the persona of a madcap adventuress is priceless. I think I'll watch it again right now!

5 stars and a very good watch a lot flick!
Marvelous storyline, and great plot. Jobeth Williams is very believable as a housewife and mom, aspiring writer, and her put-upon sidekick Tom Conte is dashing and clever in his part as well. When she wins a trip to Paris with her contest entry, the chain of events get hilarious, highly believable, and downright riveting.

Excellent movie for anyone at any age. Expect the be entertained!

Remember when films were honestly funny?
This film is totally delightful! A terrific little jem of a film taking us on a vicarious adventure on a seemingly misguided romp through European settings while solving a fictious (and maybe not) whodunnit it. Jo Beth Williams is at her best and Tom Conte is terrific as her victum/rescuer. I don't think that Lucy could have gotten herself into and out of more trouble! And you don't have to edit it for the family.

Opus 'N Bill: A Wish For Wings That Work
Released in VHS Tape by Universal Studios (09 November, 1999)
MPAA Rating: NR (Not Rated)
Director: Skip Jones
Average review score:

Touching and Hilarious
From the cross-dressing cockroach to the stooges as ducks, this holiday movie is a fresh take on the value of misfits and loyal friends. Wishing that he could have a set of "wings that work," Opus takes his case to the highest court when he writes a letter to Santa Claus requesting a pair of "two-part KMart no-frills flappers" When Santa's sleigh runs into mechanical difficulty, however, Opus' wings "soar beyond others" to save Christmas. Kids and adults will love the slapstick silliness, and really appreciate its touching message.

A Wish For More Animated Christmas Specials This Good
The old show biz adage "leave 'em wantin' more" was, apparrently, not lost on Mr. Berke Breathed. "A Wish For Wings..." is the only animated representation we have from Breathed's funny as hell comic strips "Bloom County" and "Outland". But the cartoon doesn't stand alone in that regard only... It's also the most well made and funniest t.v. special of the holiday season I've ever seen. We want more, Berke!

DVD please
This is a light hearted, wonderful story of confused priorities and multiple epiphanies. The cinematic allusions are a delight, and the music is a Joy. It may prove a bit quirky for the strict traditionalist, but once you get over that, it wears extremely well. I am saddened to read that it is out of print; in these times of self-absorbed acquisitiveness, a DVD release might set in motion at least a tiny counterbalance of decency.

TOUCHING DRAMA WITH SUPERB PERFORMANCES.
"Awakenings" is one of those movies that will touch most of the people due to the situations that the film shows. The movie is based on a book written by real-life neurologist Oliver Sacks, represented in the movie as Dr. Malcolm Sayer, played by Robin Williams. This is the story of a group of catatonic people living in the '60s, and the struggle of Dr. Sayer to save these people.

It's really a shame that diseases like this can destroy the ability to fulfill the hopes and desires of the human beings, and "Awakenings" superbly captures on-screen the pain and suffer of the relatives of the affected people that can't fully enjoy their physical abilities.

"Awakenings" displays excellent performances from Robin Williams, in one of his finest performances, and the magnificent Robert De Niro as well. However, the movie wouldn't had the same impact if the supporting cast wouldn't delivered such fine performances as they did on "Awakenings", everybody on this movie contributed to print a remarkable realism to the movie.

"Awakenings" is a film that will provoke several feelings, will provide clean entertainment and will make people reflect about the value of life, because the human life could be limited or finished at any time.

An touching lovely drama.
A Doctor (Robin Williams) believes people are in Catatonic are alive inside. The Doctor using an Experimental Drug on his Catatonic Patiens. He has successed with his First Recipient (Two Time Oscar-Winner:Robert De Niro) of this Medication.

Directed by Penny Marshall (Riding in Cars with Boys) made a terrific drama, which is Based on a True Story. Wonderful Performances by De Niro and Williams. Great Supporting Cast including:Julie Kavner, Ruth Nelson, John Heard, Penelope Ann Miller and Max Von Sydow. A touching, moving, unforgettable film. Grade:A.

It'll Open Your Eyes
I've seen many films similar to "Awakenings". Underdog doctor discovers special patients, learns to communicate with and help them, fights evil system, triumphs, declared hero. Yet I have found no film of that nature to rival "Awakenings", and not only because the good doctor's triumph doesn't last. The beauty of "Awakenings" is that it never becomes precious or schmaltzy; it succeeds, as films rarely do, in truly getting behind the eyes of the characters, in asking questions about life and humanity without being pretentious. "Awakenings" is real, it is beautiful. It documents the human spirit and gives the viewer much more than eye candy or Saturday night entertainment. Credit is due to Robert de Niro and Robin Williams, who turn in astounding performances, as well as to director Penny Marshall and screenwriter Steven Zaillian. Julie Kavner ("The Simpsons") and Penelope Ann Miller also contribute sympathetic performances. A multi-Oscar nominee, "Awakenings" is one of the best films of the '90s.

Why read and write?
I use the book with reluctant readers and writers (middle to high school)to get them to see that "universal, free, public education" was not always available to all and how valuable the abilities to read and write are. Then we watch the film which is an excellent adaptation of the book. Readers/viewers might also want to read Paulsen's sequel, Sarny. Both are interesting turns for Paulsen, best known for his coming of age/wilderness novels, especially Hatchet. Paulsen is one of the best contemporary writers of description...check out the opening page to his book, The Winter Room.

Freedom is Reading!
I love this movie, the first time I saw it was at a showing given by the Delta's, a African American female sorority at the International House in Philadelphia. It was like history coming alive before my eyes, the lesson it taught on the value of education was unforgettable.
When the lights went up, we were engaged in a dialogue led by poet, Sonia Sanchez on the impact of what we viewed and how relevant it was to all educators and students today.
I could only keep asking how to purchase the video!! A few days later I visited my video rental store and their it was on the shelf...it was sold to me for $10!
I have since purchased over half a dozen [...] and given as gifts to lovers of American history. I also present workshops on slavery, Civil War and Literature in many schools, that connect to my storytelling work, featuring the works of Paul Laurence Dunbar. I often recommend this video to the teachers to show in the middle to university level before I come to the classroom or assembly.

It is realistically powerful! Excellent acting by all! Beautiful visuals and a great storyline from the cabin to the big house.

I gave the last one away to a friend who is working on a Slavery Museum here in Philadelphia, so I keep ordering more!

Where's Patty Duke?
When I got this movie and watched it I was diaaapointed because I bought it from the "Patty Duke Auction" and she is not in. In spite of that it is a great movie and the otheer reviews sum it up pretty good. Worth keeping. (: misskittykatt ^..^
